H2O Fowl Farms in Dunn hosts IDPA matches the second Saturday of each month, with BUG (back-up gun) matches on the fifth Saturday in months that have them. Sign up starts at 0900 during Standard Time months and 0800 in Daylight Savings Time months. First shots downrange approximately one hour later.

The $20 match fee gets you access to 6 stages with a total round count of around 100 or so. We run a safe match at a great range and utilize the current IDPA rules.

The range address is 3494 Fairground Road, Dunn, NC 28334. The website is www.h2ofowlfarmsnc.com.

Come on out and join in fellowship with the finest people in the Carolinas. You won't be disappointed and we guarantee you'll enjoy the day.

BUG match on Saturday, New Years Eve!

Also a day/night match the second Saturday of January where we'll shoot half the match before dark, eat dinner, come back, and shoot the balance of the match after dark. Woo Hoo!

Sweet. I always miss these. Wish there was a calendar option on the site we could import from...

Maybe link Triangle Tactical's calendar somehow.

They decided to do the bug match. Great. Will be there. Anybody going to Clinton tomorrow? Thinking about it myself.

I would but I'me headed to the show to procure another BUG gun in the morning, and then re-marrying off inlaws in the PM.

Have anymore info on the Jan 14th day/night match?

Amp Mangum was working on it when he announced it at the last H20 match a week ago. maybe he can illuminate us further.

Amp Mangum can confirm, but from the last discussion we had, we plan to shoot at 1pm, go eat dinner, then reconvene at the range to shoot the same course of fire after dark. Probably start that session around 6pm.

Handheld lights only.

That's the plan.

I hope you guys have a killer match. My schedule won't let me back to H2O till April or May, but I'm going to try and get this one off.

Hopefully I can make the BUG match and day/night match, both will be firsts for me. Just to clarify, for the day/night match, no lights attached to the weapon allowed?

Correct. Handheld lights only.

Bug match on New Year's eve sounds like fun. Is anyone from Durham planning to go so we could share a ride?

2 strings x 5 rounds each? Tons of ideas.

Just edit out the ones with advanced math in them, for us mere mortals.

They're all one-handed stages so you can use the other hand to keep track of the number of rounds fired.

That's good because 27 degrees is gonna be too cold to take my shoes off.

27? Dang...I oughta go to the duck blind.
It was like that there a couple of weeks ago. Once we started shooting we had to peel out of coats.

The only BUG match I've shot was at Deep River. We didn't draw from holster, but started in either down ready or gun in a box/on a table. Is that the case Saturday?

Yes. Low ready start, (12) 5 round max stages, and no reloads on the clock.

Danny, H2o BUG match will be run just like the Deep River BUG match.

Wasn't that cold today (says the guy wearing 3 layers).

I felt I did OK in the beginning, started falling apart in the middle, then calmed down and finished back in the OK range. Enjoyed all the movement and one handed stuff. Disappointed the hot chocolate stage contained no actual hot chocolate.

My dad got flustered on stage 1 with a FTF. Gun went click, he racked it open and it locked back, stuffed a new mag in and finished the string (slowly). He got a procedural for his efforts, but the idea was solid in my book... get the gun running, worry about the details later. I would have done the same thing in his position. He was throwing shots everywhere though, his split times were too fast and I swear he couldn't have gotten any sort of sight picture or even really seen the gun in the right place before he fired the 2nd shot at a target. I didn't listen to his advice growing up, and he won't listen to mine now so we'll probably have to find a neutral 3rd party to give him some instruction.

Sorry I didn't make it around to say hi and meet your dad, K. Glad you guys had a good day.

(BTW...my daddy won't listen to me either, and for the same reason yours won't listen to you. We love'em anyway.)

You know, this seemed pretty funny until we actually had to shoot all those one-handed stations!

Actually, the shoot was really fun, and I appreciate all the effort that goes into setting up and running such a shoot. Thanks a Brazilian, and that's way more than a Million.

Link to results from yesterday's BUG match at H2O. Previously, I was able to get to results that were downloadable into Excel for analysis to paralysis. How do you get to those?

Weird, I am seeing several names listed twice with different scores.

Never mind on the Excel Q. It's the Uberscoremaster scores that allow download to Excel.
