Our winner from last month is Lucky63! He had a score of 205, great job! šŸ† He will be able to pick this months target and we will get shooting soon! Thanks to everyone who shoots with us, we enjoy everyone, but you must shoot a 22lr to be counted as a winner. Thank you for understanding.


Standard CFF Monthly Rimfire Benchrest Challenge Rules
- Target Size: Standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper
- Target distance: 50 yards
- Any shooting position you'd like
- Front rests, bipods, front/rear shooting bags, bunny ears, ... etc. are all ok.
- No full length rifle mechanical rail/sled type rests allowed
- Iron sights or optics of your choice are all allowed
- All done on the honor system. Shoot it, score it, post it.
- Winner chooses the target and challenge for the next month.
- Post copy of your target and picture of your rifle setup and ammo used

Hopefully this hasnā€™t been used before.

-15 shots NO CUE BALL
-each ball is the number of points
-get a clean hit in the circle with number (double points)

Let me know if I need modify this or to keep looking for a new target šŸ˜Ž

1. Edge hits (outer edge of ball) count?
2. Double points are only for shots completely inside (no edge hit) the inner/numbered circle?

Other than thatā€¦itā€™s pretty clear. Weā€™ve done billiard games before, but itā€™s been awhile. Iā€™m sure a lot of shooters will appreciate everything being the same size this time. šŸ˜

Can we use Cue ball as sighter?
 
I'll prolly use the first target, that no one sees, as a sighter.šŸ˜‰

Looks like I am first in. I heard thatā€™s good for an extra 20 points...
here are my three best targets. Let me know if I messed up scores. Was a fun target.
Ruger American with Vortex Viper using CCI Standard. Forgot to take pic today but using same setup as this old pic.

Iā€™m a little confused on the scoring for yours. Isnā€™t a completed target 120 (as in hitting balls 1-15) as a baseline?

- so the target thatā€™s 115+4 should be 124 instead?
- the one thatā€™s 125 should be 119? (No doubles and just the 1 ball missed?)
- the 131 seems right (120 minus the missed 13, plus a double 10 and double 14)

curious if I wasnā€™t seeing something right on the targetsā€¦

No, I believe you are correct at looking at it again. Maybe I added wrong somehow. Thanks for the second pair of eyes.
 
I didnā€™t even count them up, because this was going to be competitive. Have only shot this at 25 yards with this red dot until today.

I just wanted to shoot it with its newest accessory. Big thanks to @BigWaylon for all his instructions. Only took a month to get approved.

So, shot at 50 for the first time and suppressed for the first time. All you see at 1x is a big white square.

Still had fun!! Ammo goes by fast with this!!

I gave it a try today, shot 4 targets, best one was 145. It was fun and I will try it again! I was shooting the CZ 455, bipod on front, bag in rear, Athlon Helos 6-24Ɨ50 on 18 power. Ammo was Geco Match 22 and Geco LR Bolt action. Got out this morning. Very nice with hardly a breeze. Shot 7 Targets with these as my best. Let me know if my counting is off.
Ruger American w/ vortex Viper glass on a Boydā€™s stock.
used CCI Standard ammo.

Itā€™s really hard to tell which ones are clean doubles. I took your highest and marked it the best I could tell, but came up with 10 points higher than you didā€¦a 165.

I think itā€™s easier to figure out if you mark the score of each ball.

I agree and will do that from now on. I didnā€™t give myself the extra 13. It is so close that I went on side of caution. I will attach a close up of it. If this were for money I might have a different opinion. šŸ˜‚

I tried it again! This really is a fun target. I did a little better this time, I scored 150. Same setup as I used the first time, I didn't take pictures today. I shot all of my targets using the Geco 22lr Rile for bolt actions. It seems to be working pretty good lately.20210710_201449.jpg
 
Iā€™m a little bummed. I chose the target and havenā€™t even printed it off yet. Hopefully Iā€™ll be able to get an attempt before the end of the month. June flew by!!!

I didnā€™t try to count it up to seeā€¦but did you count the 7 as a double? Itā€™s not marked either way.
 
Is anyone else going to play?šŸ¤” This game is great! šŸ˜€ I had to do it again today. Scored 177 or 185, 8 ball was questionable. Same set up as always, CZ 455 bipod and bag and of course my Athlon Helos BTR 6-24Ɨ50! Only thing I changed today was I shot the ELEY CMP bulk ammo. I warmed up the barrel with 15 shots of Geco then shot 15 rounds of Eley to clear the barrel. No cleaning of any type, then shot my 3 targets. I just replaced a Burris with an Athlon Midas Tac 6-24X50 on my Kidd 10/22 build. Way more magnification! Weā€™ll see how the test drive goes.
