So I was waiting for a buddy at the end of the self-checkout. I hear these gangbangers start yelling at another dude that was in the checkout. They exchange typical "u da bitch ass nigga" type stuff. One of the dudes clocks the guy, and another dude in the checkout goes "hey break it up" - so obviously the other three guys jump in and start hitting the gangbanger too. Guy falls down and they kick his head, I look up at the guy that yelled to break it up and he's got a pistol pointed right at the huddled mass of the four gangbangers.

Crazy thing is...I think I was the ONLY damn person that saw that this guy drew down on them other than maybe this guys wife/GF. Not even the gangbangers saw it, they just kinda stopped hitting the guy and casually walked away, never even looked at this dude that has a handgun on them.

The store was busy as hell, and even all the employees were just focused on the fights that not a single person saw or reacted to it.

The guy saw me looking at him, he re-holstered, and I just nodded at him and left.

The thing is...I don't think I would have ever pulled out my weapon in that situation, nor am I entirely certain that his line of sight was clear. I'm pretty sure if he shot a round into a gangbanger there was a strong possibility it could have wound up in someone else at one of those little stores they have near the Entrance/Exit. - IDK, I can't say for sure.

I was probably 5ft from the gangbangers and 9ft from the guy with the handgun.

Was this in NC?

I mean, it was pretty bad. They kept kicking the guy in the face and head but he was still protecting himself to some degree so I could tell he wasn't knocked out. They weren't threatening to anyone else at the time, but I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them had a weapon. Could have gone south pretty quick if they saw that dude had a gun on them. Idk.

I think the risk of protecting some gangbanger type dude by drawing down on the others just wasn't the right call then. Maybe he felt protective of his wife at the time? - he could have gotten her out of the hot zone though if that was the case.

That's how I feel as well.

I was shocked the guy drew down, but I wasn't even phased by it. I was just looking at him like "I hope you're comfortable with that decision." - I'm sure it was on all camera. I'm wondering how that's gonna go down for him. The guy and his wife/gf bought an item at the self checkout, so I'm assuming they used a card...which means they will have a name. Tick tock.

I don't imagine he will be charged with anything, but IDK. Hopefully not, and hopefully he learns from it. He was a little too quick on the draw IMO. Just wasn't his best option.

Way to quick for sure. As said before I would have taken wife out with me and called cops to figure it out.

Yeah.. no.. nvm

Of course I always carry there too. I'm just concerned about how quickly I could draw from concealment under the outfit I always wear for shopping there.

On one hand, it could be argued that the four on one was sufficient disparity of force to draw coupled with defense of another. On the other hand, much like a DV situation, I wouldn’t put it past all five of the bangers to turn on the guy intervening.

Me, I’d try to make like a tree and get out if there. (For those that don’t get it, make like a tree and leave).

That's strange, the Wal Mart near me is only open 10A until 2P so we don't have that type people during those hours. Maybe they have twilight hours that I don't know about.....

I certainly think it was justifiable force, BUT considering the other factors I don't think it was the right call in that particular situation.

(at the beep)
Run to sporting goods counter, smash glass, grab Remington 870 Express and some dove loads, run back to front of store (loading on the way) & go all Duke Nukem
On anyone who has baggy pants.

Perfect stage.

You lost me at 'remington 870', is that some sort of cheap knock-off of a mossberg 500?

Is this a special Walmart for the older folks?

Like, you leave Bojangles at 9:30, headed to WM then home for 1st Nap?
No, Bojangles at 0600, 1st nap, dinner at Country Kitchen Buffet at 1230, WM at 1315, home by 1400, bedtime at 1430. Wakeup 7 times to piss, do it all over again.

Ya'll make all the fun ya want, at least I'm avoiding the gun play that everyone else seems to encounter.... Maybe that's why I've lived this long??? You should be as lucky....

Wal Mart scares the crap out of me.

I limit my Walmart experience to the gorcery store in Cary and the big store in W. Jeff. They are both pretty much gang banger and total scum bag free as much as can be expected. Although in W. Jeff I'm sure I've been lucky to this point. There has to be some meth heads or something floating around.

If I'm not mistaken, street rules say you can take all your shit out with you free of charge and even grab additional stuff if it's nearby. You can also snap chat to your friends and they can do the same in a flash.

I hope you meant 590. At least the 590 doesn’t feel like it was made from melted scrap. I handled a 500 and thought it was an airsoft.
