I've got a problem with a statement in this article:
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/01/2...-dead-and-multiple-wounded-officials-say.html
Parents are at the school trying to pick up kids, while police have locked it down and they're arguing between police and parents about getting their kids...
Kids are being shuttled to another part of town where the parents can get them. That's not cool in my opinion.

Everyone in this country should read thisDay of Wrath by Fortschen, read it.
It's SOP not to go to get your kids during a lock down. Parents add a layer of confusion to the chaos. But, the emotions will override the logic. And you wonder why my daughter home schools.

Someday there will be a coordinated effort with an additional shooter where they wait and attack the buses that are transporting the kids to a pick up point. Shuttling the kids out of the crime scene seems to be a playbook that was developed around the idea of Lone wolf shooters.

Imagine trying to coordinate all those panicked parents and kids. Who's going home with whom?? Is the active shooter or shooters still around? What about a bomb? And you wonder why my daughter home schools. When one of my daughters was still in public school, I taught her to get away from the school and go to a local friends shop to call me.

Can you post it up? If not, I'll PM you for the link. Everyone should hear/read this, not just parents. True to Fortschen's form, he poses questions that don't have good answers.PM me, I have a link to an audio version.
I think it makes perfect sense. None of the schools I've attended had large parking lots for parents to park. Even on normal school days, parents going in and out caused traffic to back up onto the main roads.
Now throw a school shooting into the mix. Say its an average sized school. 300 students. Now you have 300 TERRIFIED parents, with 300 cars all trying to be at the school RIGHT NOW. Traffic is gridlocked on roads going into and out of the school for a 1/2 mile or more. Road rage, folks driving up onto the shoulder. Car accidents putting additional stress on an already taxed EMS system.
Now say another shooting victim is found. Or a bomb. Additional EMS/Fire/Police units are needed urgently on the scene. They're not getting there and saving lives until those parents move out of the way. And as long as they're going to pick up their kids... we all know that isn't happening.
And when those parents get to the school, are they going to wait patiently while the police release the children and insure the shooter isn't hiding among them? No, it would be a mad dash, everyone trying to get into the school, people driving into athletic fields, etc. Probably some wannabe heroes running into the building with their CCW in hand hoping to help out. It would be chaos, and it would put more lives in danger, and could cause more needless deaths.
Schools already have a system for the quick and efficient egress of students. Busses. It makes perfect sense to check the students to insure the shooter isn't among them, then bus them to a secure location where parents can pick up their children in safety. It preserves the crime scene, allows the police to apprehend the shooter, and insures that the wounded victims get the care they need as fast as possible.
America is consumed with the almighty dollar, both parents working while kids roam the neighborhood. I don’t see an end to this madness. If you have a kid who is depressed or raging against the world then your guns should be locked down in a safe or removed to a relatives home.
Their is an easy solution to all these school shootings..... I hate to hear about these things. I just hate it.
No they cant see their kids are unstable. Its lost in the noise when crazy is everywhere and we're told to accept it as normal.
What is the easy solution?
The Daily Mail always has the most detailed stories and pics. And they're based in the UK.
