S&W has a great series called MP, check it out.
I replaced a G23 that I carried for 10 years with a G48 a few months ago. I don't particularly like it - but it's compact, light, has 10 rounds, and I shoot it pretty well inside of 15 yards.
Does the trigger suck? Absolutely. Do I hate the dingus? Yup. Is it kinda snappy for a 9mm? Yea, that too.
But it does it's job 100% of the time. Only modification was to throw on a set of Hackathorn sights.
I did briefly consider a P365, but I no longer trust a Sig pointing at my junk. (Yea, I know they're likely 100% safe - I just don't want that shit in my head all the time.)
