With Wilmington cut off, looting has been an issue in certain communities.

Around here we are land locked between Rivers and Creeks, and after watching the news, some stores took precautions opening today, only letting in so many customers at a time. Grocery stores are opening if you can get to them, no meats, just non refrigerated Items. Estimate that It’ll be the end of the week or next week before they get their trucks in to resuply.

I’ve seen some pics of the looting taking place, and honestly it’s those who believe everyone else owes them, stealing laundry detergent when the power was out, that’s not even a need. I’m amazed at those defending this behavior, and criticizing the media for covering it. Those people can ask for help to be feed, stealing is not the right thing to do ever, and is only done by those who are of low morals and of uncivilized society / culture. Finally the media did a good job, covering actual news as it happened, without political spin.

I finally made it to town in the truck, water had dropped some on my road this afternoon. Better believe I was carrying more mags than usual. Good news is I made it to town and back safely for Coffee. Yes Coffee was worth the risk! Bad news is many of these towns are going to be cut off mostly by road, rivers continue to rise.

Dollars to donuts (no pun intended) says that store will simply close. It becomes a problem for other communities in that as their neighborhood stores close, the trash starts migrating into other neighborhoods.

Can’t blame them at all if they do close.

Can't and shouldn't discriminate due to race. But dropping the thief in his tracks is another story!

I know...It's not worth it to shoot someone over a dollar store item...True!
But is it worth the risk of getting shot over a dollar store item???

I recall working the riots in Augusta back in 76 when "people" would loot a store and then throw the stuff away within 1 block. THAT made a lot of sense didn't it?? Risk your life to steal something only to throw it away, what's the mentality??

It's really a sad commentary on society today the mindless throngs will do such things knowing that the punishment will be a change of address to another .gov provided house/cell. All at tax payer expense!

It's goods too see tha po-lice only gotta go cross tha street for d'arrest.

What's the range and accuracy of rubber bullets?
It'd be HIGHLY entertaining from a rooftop :D

I don't really care much about Family Dollar's losses, and judging people doesn't help me at all. But this IS a strong reminder to be prepared for more than just avoiding a temporary interruption to my personal comforts.

Looters.. how racist of you. I prefer you to use the term Undocumented Shoppers.
That community could be a beautiful area where they built those projects, it use to be long ago. Across from Greenfield Lake, a very nice place, beside a bad neighborhood.

When they decide to skip the stores and go door to door, that is when things will not end well.
Lady Justice is blind and I hope they locate these looters and hold them accountable.

I tried to explain this very thing to a SJW princess complaining about "food deserts" in certain neighborhoods. She didn't appreciate my asking why any sane business person would open a store in those locations & expose themselves to vandalism, theft, armed robbery & looting.

Sh*t like this pisses me off to no friggon end. The mentality of, "It's there for the taking, so I'm gonna take it." If there was a decent one in the bunch, they'd stand in front of the shop door and say, "No...you ain't taking anything."

Eventually, they're going to pull this stunt at a private residence and hopefully, it will not end well for them.

Piss on em...every damned one of them. Wish someone would have been in there with a belt-fed and lit their asses up when they came through the door.

If I remember correctly the Koreans in LA knew how to stop looters.

This was a recommended video from yours, about Ferguson, Missouri...and someone that has a different approach than the Koreans or many of us would have

"I'll talk to them, shake their hands..." lol

Not much of a variety of weaponry huh? I'd also prefer to go to battle with a guy that wasn't already on an oxygen tank.

And I thought the Police are there to protect us?

I understand why the manager of a Family Dollar would say he won’t press charges. He assumed people were stealing food items since there is little of value. He probably thought he was drumming up good PR.

I AGREE with the local LE that failing to act would be contagious and lead to far worse problems.

A non-gun guy and a guy with one foot in the grave + 14 shotguns and 2500 shells...what could go wrong?

You sir should be stacking deep green coffee beans. Roasting and grinding your own beans is a bit tidious but well worth it

Looters???

They looked like silhouettes to me. They ain’t got no business living don’t matter what color I have seen both.

This thread is a perfect example of how things can go "really bad" if a nationwide SHTF scenario unfolded.

As soon as a major disaster presents itself, where local law and order cannot be maintained, the true bad members of society rear their ugly heads.

I agree with the posts above about home invasions during these weather related catastrophes. The unarmed households are at a major disadvantage.

However, the heavily armed and prepared households are invisibly at a major advantage over the scumbag criminals running rampant in a community.

I can hear the news spinning a home invasion shooting now. "Why did he shoot that young man? He just needed food , water and shelter."
IIRC there were bodies found after Katrina for a few months afterward. Wonder how many of them met their end due to 'Cajun justice' trying to steal rob or loot

"Why did he shoot all of those poor folks coming through his doors and windows. They just needed food , water and shelter."

That's a more likely scenario.

......not condoning looting......but of all places......the dollar store??????

Some folks don’t have the “go big or go home” mentality.

They need to be introduced to the AR. Pops doesn't look like he'll handle many 12 ga pistol grip rounds well.
"Why would anyone need an AR??"
Evil hoards.
