Meck Sheriff permit delay in court today

It is amazing that it took less time for me to get a carry permit after moving to Maryland than it takes a resident of CM county to get a permit.
That sheriff must be getting paid quite a bit in cash tips to expedite special people permits as well as cash tips for the local crime families to slow walk most. The delays make the workplace for criminals so much safer.

Maryland was probably excited to add you to the gun guy watch list so they process the papers right away, lest you fly under the radar too long as a guy having guns that aren't noted on the database.

This is stupid thinking. It’s like laws against criminal activity. If one doesn’t prevent it, more aren’t going to do any better.

Pre bruen MD denied over 90% applications. So applicant numbers weren't high. The numbers skyrocketed as so as they eliminated "good cause." Approval time dropped. Application is all on line.
The anti gun NC sheriffs have slowed the process by requiring in person printing and application submission. Then they make it by appointment only and then limit the number of available appointments.
The MD MGA us currently trying to follow NY by reinstating "just cause" requirement by calling it something else. Also SB1 passed that makes almost the entire state a criminal and cops gun state.
 
They should have a mass open carry day in Mecklenburg County. With the abolition of PPP anyone that qualifies can buy a pistol there. No permission from the Sheriff needed. Why not flaunt it. Maybe the Sheriff will want to get those guns covered up and issue some permits.

Fox 8 News reported that “Paul Valone, the President of Grass Roots North Carolina … blamed the NRA.” He said they pushed the legislators to pull the bill because of the training requirement that was left in the law. I still can’t wrap my head around the NRA’s logic behind that decision. I mean, I get the argument behind constitutional carry, but don’t you take what you can get and then go back for more later? I don’t know if I would have made that same call.
