Not insane, unless you plan to shoot them off into the distance never to be seen again, then they're a bit steep at $4 each. But you only live once.I don't care how expensive those were.
Worth....every...penny...

you can still stick in a 22lr adapter bolt and shoot blanks to increase chances of recoveryNot insane, unless you plan to shoot them off into the distance never to be seen again, then they're a bit steep at $4 each. But you only live once.

This could be the start of a new sport! So the idea about using blank trip mines to make a golf ball blooper, it just didn't pan out.
This will though!

The inimitable @DrPhudd answered my call for a stubby lil barrel and came through like a super swift rockstar. Supplied, chopped, threaded and shipped in less time than it took for a retailer to send me the upper it's going on (ignore the one in the pic, it was the only unpopulated one I could find here)!
So once the upper and the MCS 3.5" weirdo buffer tube arrives, it's functionally done.
I've got a Chinesium (oh how I love the Chinesium) toob handguard that when cut down to 3.25" (which is a mm or so past the checkering, so nice!) will make an almost seamless gap filler. Assuming I don't make a total bollocks of it.
Pretty sure folks already do launcher golf lolThis could be the start of a new sport!
Or keep it for more than 5 minutes apparently lolI'd say you have a better chance than you would recovering a .50 tracer. They run in the 4 buck range and don't stay lit near as long
Ya can't take it with ya.
