I used to do this on my Gold Star. Approaching the tunnel at about 60mph, just before entering, downshift to third and stretch the throttle cable. Coming out the other end was like being shot from a cannon!

Last time I went through the tunnel in Asheville on my bike the lights started to trigger my vertigo. That was a scary moment 🤣

As I’ve gotten older I like tunnels less. Sense of orientation and balance don’t like it.

tunnels are my concert hall, whether im on my bike or spoolin the turbo on the truck (kids know whats coming because i roll the windows down 😆)

Thats something I noticed also,, short tunnels are ok but when you get up into VA and the really long tunnels I have to really concentrate on looking just straight forward and try to tune out the flashing lights.

I'm with you guys now. I don't even like 'em in a car, nowhere to go if things go sideways. I am really surprised terrorists haven't blown up the Holland Tunnel or some other one 😬.

If they are straight and I can see thru them no problem.
Most of the tunnels on my end of the BRP are curved.
Still not been down tunnel road in Asheville.

Loved the tunnels headed up to balsam mountain, the truck would sing the entire time climbing that hill.

Out here, the tunnels through buffalo bill damn are a glorious concert hall.

I always have a bike ready, swapped them out the other day, put the 2014 Valk in the shed, put the 98 Valk, "The Beast", in the carport. Battery is shot though. New one came in today, ready to ride tomorrow.

It's actually a pretty sturdy lift if you take that POS wheel vise off it and put a good one on.
