Motorcycle love

I predict you will LIKE it

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing, lol. First thing I'm doing is getting the suspension set up for me. Then it will be time to see what I can do on this new beast. Man, the throttle response is so crisp and instant. I also have to get use to the quick shifter. It will be super nice to just hold it pinned and click through the gears without having to quickly blip the throttle like the F4i.

This was the last Yamaha track bike I had back in the day: a TZ250G with an RD400 motor. It was street legal too (probably couldn't get away with it today)! Pretty much cured me of trying to ride like a racer on the street, but it was really great in its element. Sorry for the lousy Polaroids but that's all I got. I started racing with a TA125 but the only photos I have of it are old slides.

I’ve seen a picture of a trailer turned on its side with bikes inside using that restraint system. Bikes were still held securely to the trailer floor. Sideways.

Funny you mention that. That exact picture is what sold me on this system. It literally takes me a couple minutes to load and lock, and ready to roll.

Rode to the WNC CFF lunch today. About thirty miles of rain. Then it lightened up. Stopped and picked up a new pair of boots and socks, waterproof boots don't drain. Needed new boots anyway.
Ride home was great.
I rode from Greenville SC to Atlanta for a H.O.G. Rally forty years ago. Three hours of summer rain, wearing plain old leather cowboy boots. They didn’t drain either. We’d stop every 20-30 minutes and pour the water out of our boots.

First Manufacturing does a killer discount for vets/active duty so the 20% discount code they send after every order goes unused. If anyone wants it I'll gladly send it over.

Well, I called the vendor that will be selling tires, parts, etc, and do suspension tuning at the track this weekend, and have it set up to get it adjusted for me before my 1st session. My 1st session will be to get used to the bike, scrub in the new Dunlop Q4's, and get a general feel of how I'm gonna have to ride this thing. Hopefully I'll gel quickly and turn on the lap timer for the 2nd session. I just hope I like the Q4's. I've never been a Dunflop....err, Dunlop guy, so it will be interesting. It came with them on there, and the rear tire is a 190/55, and I like a 180/60 for the extra ground clearance and turn in. Anyway, we'll see how it goes. I'm taking some Metzeler TD slicks with me just in case, but they have a few track days on them from last year. They were gtg in October, so should be the same ole same ole. If all goes well, I'll post some updates at lunch time, and some video a few days later.

Several Black Shadows have been up for sale in recent months. They sold for unusually low prices; this one is going to bring a good price because original, low miles, unrestored. A few years ago this bike would have brought well over $120K

So far I can recommend twin performance tuners. They couldn't get my rear fan working even though they enabled it. Wouldn't charge me. Come to find out it was my fault. I ran back up there and paid the idiot tax.

Get it working?

Yes and thanks for the recommendation. It definitely makes a difference. It still gets hot in stop and go traffic but nothing like it was before. I imagine the oil cooler fan helps as well.
