Nonsense songs you love.

I'll skip the German lesson, but the "du hast" thing is just wordplay based on verb conjugation & the chorus is the 'standard' wedding vow auf Deutsch. Fun band & would love to see them live.

This crap will drive you insane. We should use it on captured al qaeda fighters.

Been lurking for months and this thread finally made me register. Hello! I'm a big fan of nonsense in songs, though not from politicians. Four pure nonsense favorites of mine:

On the off chance I’m asked to submit a tie-breaker, here you be.

The 2nd video was added for the youngun's that might not have had exposure to classic films and proper dancing.

To me, that video shows that what the world today needs is more Fred Astair and less social media.

Since we're on Rammstein.... I drive around listening to this and Ich tu dir weh all the time,,,

Rammstein
A body burns
Rammstein
Rancid flesh fills the air
Rammstein
A child dies
Rammstein
The daylight shines
Rammstein
A sea of flames
Rammstein
Blood congeals on the concrete
Rammstein
Mothers' scream
Rammstein
The daylight shines
Rammstein
A massive grave
Rammstein
There's no escape
Rammstein
Not a bird will sing
Rammstein
And the daylight shines

Kinda morbid. I guess it's a good thing I don't know German :D

I love the band, but hate the English language versions of their songs. German doesn't translate well 'directly' & you need to be able to actually think auf Deutsch to really appreciate it. I went so native over there, I dreamt in German & couldn't speak English again properly until lunch time after a long weekend. Good times.... Buncha good, German language bands that will never be heard over here because of the 'language barrier'.

This is a fun one as well, in a bit different vein.

This version threw me, the first time I heard it in a club in Germany.

You have to understand Austrian German to even have a chance with this one & I didn't get a handle on that till toward the end of my 3rd tour.

You know exactly what this song is about, but it never really goes anywhere. And I'll sing it at the top of my lungs when I'm driving. lol

Same with this one.

Seriously?!! American Pie is pure genius. A lament on the death of Rock & Roll. There is nothing nonsensical about a word of it.

And now for something completely different. This aria debuted in 1791, composed by Mozart, with the libretto (words and text) written by Schikaneder. Make it to the 1:15 mark at least.

Lilly I totally agree with you as to the 'theme' of the the song , it's just that the lyrics are more than a bit bizarre.
(IF) you'd care to paraphrase I'm all ears...
