See if we edit a thread we are censoring, if we move a thread we are censoring, if we delete a thread we are censoring, if we modify anything we have overmoderation. If we don't lock, edit, move, etc then we are anti-gay, anti-everything.

I have had people PM me several times with perceived issues. They were polite, I was polite, we discussed things like civilized adults and came to an understanding.

Then there are those that don't actually want to discuss anything but just want to show their ass.

In those situations we have given those people a time out to cool off, and return, hopefully after some time to consider that maybe the way they were going about things isn't the right way.

And in all but 2 of those instances that's exactly what happened.

In life you are usually faced with choices. If I am faced with a choice of hanging out with people I'm am morally or philosophically opposed to I always choose not to hang out with them.

But then I'm not a confrontational person by nature and have no desire to shout my personal views at them.

I'll admit, I've been away from the forum for a few days, and I'm behind on all of the drama. Looks like I missed some sort of shindig, or a crying game or something.

As far as the gay/anti-gay stuff? The forum or the staff itself has never felt anti gay to me, not even for a moment. There are a very few token members that can come across that way, but I know its just because they're compensating for their shameful desires :D I'm not mad at them, I pity them, and I hope that one day they find the man that will throw the wood to them like a Taylor stove in Janurary. :D

I've had the good fortune to meet a good portion of the staff of this site over the years, and I've met a few of the regular members too. This forum is a great place, full of good people, and I think the exodus from Canada to here was a great move.

CFF is a great place. The dive bar analogy is perfect.

What did Blues leave over? He was always level headed at the other forum. Never struck me the type to need his posts deleted, but he mentioned getting deleted.

If you want to run off the "Nazis", that's fine. But he's at least one good poster getting caught up in whatever this is.

This kinda thing is why I don't post every time I want to. Why the hell does any one individual think that an online forum they are a part of should be just the way they would like? I am VERY opinionated. But I accept that so is everyone else and CFF is usually close.

The founders set cff up as they saw fit. I gladly joined. There is a lot I really enjoy about this forum. Yes there are some topics I see that I don't agree with, sometimes STRONGLY. But since there is no blatant "this is horrible, no one thinks this way" I rarely want to step in with posts of my own. Not because I don't want to prove an op wrong on whatever opinion they have and show them the "light" but because they think about things differently than I do. They maybe clearly, obviously are completely wrong but it damn sure ain't my place to correct them. Much less get to the point of demanding that the entire site change to suit my world view. It's not my effing site. I just get to be a member. If it goes to far I shall leave as I did the last time such a thing happened.... I was against how the staff and volunteers were treated and things were handled then as opposed to the typical reasons given in that debacle.....

Hell, some of my favorite online personas on this forum decided that certain things were beyond what they wanted to be a part of..... Such is life. They stated they were doing what they did and the reasons why. Then did them without fuss.....

They get my respect fully and I truly miss them. Plus, I hate it was that way but hey, they made an adult decision based on how they see things in the real world then simply executed it with their online persona, the end, no drama. I KNOW the staff have had divisive discussions on many topics behind the scenes. Such is life, humans disagree, who knew?

Zed, come on man, on that first post in the deleted thread you stated you were drunk.... Has sober you readdressed your thoughts there? Or is this a situation where you still stand by "drunkzed" opinions? I may (and do) agree with you on many topics but when you start with "I'm inebriated" in a thread that gets KO'd, then start a whine fest. It makes any support I may have given wane....

@Zedhound. Edited to tag as I don't say things in real life I wouldn't want someone to know I had said. So just want to make sure zed knows I addressed him.

Just FTR I want everyone here to know that one member, after reading what I wrote above and sent me a PM to politely discuss things.

I read his entire PM and then responded and tried to address the questions and/or points he was making to explain our position as owners and staff of this site.

I haven't heard back from him yet, I may not and that's fine as I think those two simple and polite pm's enabled both of us to understand each other's position without anyone showing their ass.

I will say that I never thought this forum as a whole was biased towards any one group. I do believe there are more than a few that sometimes go over board, see Trigger words thread. Well for those that know about the thread can reminisce about it. We need to remember it's not your private work shop, locker room.
 
Just look at it as a cautionary tale, follow the rules loose as they are that's pretty easy to do for most of us.asked to be ghosted and get your wish, don't run to the great white North and cry about it, if you're gonna take a stand then be prepared to accept the consequences of the stand you took.

Honestly the one simple rule (for most people) is don't say anything on here to anyone that you wouldn't say to their face.

Now for me, as I'm sure others will tell you, I'm actually worse in person. On here I type things and then have a second to take them back. In person it's already said.

Just my opinion, but about the only constituency with a legitimate concern about "hate" or "anti" propaganda or vitriol at this site would be Glocks.

1911 times by my count, the Glocksters have been persecuted plastiphobicly on this site and they are nearly at their melting point and are at risk of exploding if this kind of bias continues.
