Picked up a Tisas as part of a trade.

I get the hype—it’s a solid 1911 for sub-Glock money, and definitely a nicer piece visually than a Rock Island. Little things could be better (safety detent is soft, the trigger is a bit undersized and not adjustable for overtravel, and the mechanical accuracy is just okay, 2.5-3” groups at 25 with good ammo), but it’s a better gun than the base model Colts and Springfields without considering price… and it’s half the price.

Well since us commoners are allowed to have braces again for a bit....

9mm BCA bufferless upper with an obnoxious two part muzzle dingus, PSA split tail brace. Once I confirm the upper will run with the Endomag I'll grab a few more of them, I just vastly prefer the look to a Glock mag lower.

If I can figure out how to remodel the charging handle so it works with a right side folder, it will get a stamp and then the Hera/Zhukov 1913 folder I have. Doesn't fold because the side charger is in the way right now.

The TRP is back from Springfield… and the Tisas is now playing the “we have TRP at home” role.

The Turk guns are definitely a little “off” dimensionally. I had to fit and fiddle with every set of slabs I have tried (Herretts and Hogues) in ways that I have not needed to do with any other manufacturer. But, it runs like a scalded dog, so that’s good.

JRV just wanted to say the shots look great. Someone’s got some camera and lighting skills.

Thanks! I started shooting outdoors at dusk only and indoors with an inexpensive 16” lightbox, using a tripod for the iPhone. The backdrops are just yards of fabric.

It’s a pretty unsophisticated setup. A completely still camera makes a huge difference, even with a basic iPhone camera. You can shoot from further away with a hint of zoom to get a proper depth of field for product photography.

Picked up a max 9 from FG after debating on getting one from PSA. Priced as used with a factory installed crimson trace red dot, but looks like it hasn't been shot. Pulled the optic and outlined the rear sight groove with white paint. It'll fill the gap between the lcp max and the sr9c IMG_20231126_194523416.jpgIMG_20231126_194537479.jpg

Doesn’t shoot as good as the SR9C but hope you like it, I’m fan of mine.

Just picked up this little gem last week. Walther P5. Been wanting this since I picked up my CZ70. It's in incredible condition inside and out. Put 50 rds downrange and love how the dual recoil springs really suppresses any recoil. Left side ejector is pretty "different". This was a Bond 007 pistol in Octopussy and Never Say Never Again.

Is this pre or post PPK? Just wondering. The PPK is a bucket list thing. But in Bidens economy, I really need to stay away from the gun brick.

PPK's were released in 1930. The P5 is an updated version of the P38 and was introduced in the 1970's as a direct reaction to the need for a more modern service pistol following the Munich Olympic games terrorist attack.

I really need to stay away from the gun brick.
You know better than that. Here ya go...

You could allways go with a bersa which is an economy version of the Walther ppk and everyone I know who owns or has owned the bersa say they work pretty good. Or go with the 22lr ppk which is half the price of the 380

I personally much prefer shooting the Bersa to a PPK. I have a lot less slide bite with the Bersa.

My new daily carry.
Sig P365 Macro Tacops.
17 round magazine, non compensated 3.7” barrel.
The pistol came with four magazines and a coupon for three more from Sig.
Very nice to shoot for a sub compact 9mm, I find the additional length grip and flared mag well really helps with recoil.
Easy to carry pistol in my TacRig OWB holster.

Like I mentioned on the revolver side, I pulled everything out of the safe to do the 6 month wipe down and got a family photo. Here's the pistols:

If I had to limit myself to one S&W Third Gen, it would be hard to argue with your choice. 😁
