Recommend a .22 rifle

That 99 reminded me of a TALO Edition 10/22

I like a Backpacker 10/22 myself.

I built my own.

Someone has to mention the remington 572 pump

I would be wary of one of those, especially a new one. The one I got was terrible and would not run. Sent it back to Remington. It came back...still didn't work. Ended up selling it for a pretty big loss.

My vote is a Savage FVSR in .22. LR. Put a BSA Sweet 22 3x9 scope on it. You'll be quite happy.

Another vote for a CZ 457. They are just so accurate, smooth and good looking to boot; especially the lux model. Its hard for me to pick up any other .22 out of the safe.

What does that gain you vs a 10/22 for a couple hundred less?

You own the same rifle/pistol I do, as opposed to owning one I’ve never owned before. That ought be be enough to justify the $$. 😁

Ah Let's see here
Belgium Browning T-Bolt
Winchester Mdl 52
Remington 40-X
Kimber 82 Gov.
Ruger 10-22... saw a price from Wally World...mine were way less than a "Franklin"

Would like to have a Kimber 82 Gov. though
Shot The Winchester for my Marksmanship badges when I was a "youngster" decades ago

I paid about 390 for my Henry h001 or the base model. I think the guns sitting somewhere in the range of about 600 rounds so far and it's been a blast to shoot along with being a nail driver at 25 yards. Keep in mind that seems to about the same price a new 10/22 is going for as well. I don't have a 10/22 but I don't think you'd be making a bad decision getting one. Great after market, plenty of parts and a large community.

For a fun .22 I vote for the Marlin 795. It is accurate and reliable and cheap to buy. They are customizable. This one has Tech sights and a bottom aluminum trigger/magazine assembly. Plus a WW2 .45 magazine pouch that holds 10 round .22 magazines nicely.

The CZ 452 is superbly accurate. This Lux is just amazing to shoot and a fun plinker with A 4x scope I put on it after this picture.

10/22 is the default answer as it performs well and is like lego's. You can make it anything you want. While its on my wish list and I don't have one i would say a CZ 457. I've shot most of the latest iterations. I would say go 457 or 452. You should be able to find one of those and steer clear of the 455's My 2 cents
