Harder than it looks to get this shot…….
This is the latest REGISTERED MAGNUM to find it’s way through here. A 5” from last year of production 1939.
Bought this beaut at the gun shop yesterday from a fellow looking to get rid of a few pistols. He said he sold a short bbl Vaquero earlier in the day.... I about slapped him. I WANT ALL THE SINGLE ACTIONS!!!! But I got this as a consultation prize at a steal. Like new. Didn't have a box tho.. 44 mag.View attachment 392151
Thats a piece of work!!! Like the new hammer (Montaldo?) really made a different gun out of that one. I like the sight work also. Where is Bobby located? You gonna shoot .44 Specials? That Navy sized grip frame on the Blackhawks & shorter barreled Super Blackhawks chews my hand up. It works well for me in .357, but in .41, anything other than softball/cowboy loads are a hard NOGO for me.
That grip frame was the original impetus to send this particular .41-

Does it happen to have an "NY-1" on the frame when you open the crane?Truck gun champion- not a beauty queen by far but rugged as they come. 64-6 .38 K frame. Bought used as DAO and installed a spare hammer.
Must have been a PD special order etc but has no markings.
99% sure not - but will confirm.Does it happen to have an "NY-1" on the frame when you open the crane?
No agency markings anywhere. There is a 3 digit number on the crane [opposite where your NY-1 stamp is when closed.]Does it happen to have an "NY-1" on the frame when you open the crane?
Gotcha', I was issued one in '89 (NY-1), still have it and grabbed a few more over the years as they pop up. Even finally got a rare NY-1 mod. 60.No agency markings anywhere. There is a 3 digit number on the crane [opposite where your NY-1 stamp is when closed.]
I'm sure this is an LEO agency order configuration but would have to run a serial number history to track it down.
They used some good steel in 1953. You might go through 2 or 3 hacksaw blades when you Fitz that one.Pre Model 27 with a 3 1/2” Barrel from 1953. Never Fired and has all the Originsl Tools. Note the beautiful knurled SAT. The Gold box is as perfect as any I’ve ever seen. Very proud to be the caretaker of this beautiful gun. Came to me from a True Southern Gentleman that I’m proud to call my friend.View attachment 412819
I’ll supply the blades and GoPro. 😂They used some good steel in 1953. You might go through 2 or 3 hacksaw blades when you Fitz that one.
I’m gonna use a power cut off wheel to save time and energy. They used some good steel in 1953. You might go through 2 or 3 hacksaw blades when you Fitz that one.

Not Highway Patrolman (Model 28s) but Military and Police Model 58s. .357 vs. .41 Maggies. Believe Smith did make a very small limited number of fixed sighted N frames in .357 Mag for the NYSP. Those are not the Model 520 however as the 520 used the shrouded 4" .357 barrel of the Model 28. Above barrels are the standard 4" HB of the Model 58 (4" HB Model 10 on steroids')The entire N frame family

Nice!!This place needs a dedicated revolver picture thread. I'll start us off...
Here are a few 3" K Frame Smith & Wesson revolvers. Clockwise from bottom left (1) Model 13, Model 64 NY-1, Model 65, Model 10-7, another Model 65 at bottom center.
Let's see what you've got. Post anything...new revolvers, old revolvers, your favorite carry revolver, etc.
