Revolver Picture Thread

My pocket rocket. Model 637 aka Plain Jane. Bought used 13 years ago. Cleaned up the trigger and bobbed the hammer. She's been drug around construction sites and on a bunch of fishing trips some fresh water but mostly salt. Still does the job although it looks like my wife has "adopted" her.

You gonna shoot .44 Specials? That Navy sized grip frame on the Blackhawks & shorter barreled Super Blackhawks chews my hand up. It works well for me in .357, but in .41, anything other than softball/cowboy loads are a hard NOGO for me.

That grip frame was the original impetus to send this particular .41-

off to Bobby Tyler to become this-

Thats a piece of work!!! Like the new hammer (Montaldo?) really made a different gun out of that one. I like the sight work also. Where is Bobby located?

Thank you. I snagged a deal on a Super Blackhawk Hunter gripframe & hammer from a guy who'd converted his SBH Hunter to a Bisley. I'da preferred to go Bisley, but those parts don't come up often & I knew from my .357 Maximum that the SBH grip frame worked well for me. Of course, sending it to Bobby to fit the grip frame & hammer snowballed into some nice Turkish walnut from Chigs, along with Bobby's accuracy package, Patridge front sight blade & his quarter coverage engraving.

Tyler Gun Works in Tejas- https://www.tylergunworks.com/ Bobby does great work, including the color case hardening for a couple of manufacturers. Super nice guy & when you call, usually either Bobby or his wife answer the phone. Very fair pricing, too. Seriously, I can't recommend them enough & he will definitely get more of my business.

Seven shooter in 32 hr magnum
Found some 100 grain ammo at 1100 fps at Georgia arms.
it's a blast

Truck gun champion- not a beauty queen by far but rugged as they come. 64-6 .38 K frame. Bought used as DAO and installed a spare hammer.
Must have been a PD special order etc but has no markings.
Does it happen to have an "NY-1" on the frame when you open the crane?

No agency markings anywhere. There is a 3 digit number on the crane [opposite where your NY-1 stamp is when closed.]
I'm sure this is an LEO agency order configuration but would have to run a serial number history to track it down.

Gotcha', I was issued one in '89 (NY-1), still have it and grabbed a few more over the years as they pop up. Even finally got a rare NY-1 mod. 60.

Pre Model 27 with a 3 1/2” Barrel from 1953. Never Fired and has all the Originsl Tools. Note the beautiful knurled SAT. The Gold box is as perfect as any I’ve ever seen. Very proud to be the caretaker of this beautiful gun. Came to me from a True Southern Gentleman that I’m proud to call my friend.2A60B534-9E47-41C2-B245-A5485C4998CD.jpeg

They used some good steel in 1953. You might go through 2 or 3 hacksaw blades when you Fitz that one.

And new to me Model 28
Not Highway Patrolman (Model 28s) but Military and Police Model 58s. .357 vs. .41 Maggies. Believe Smith did make a very small limited number of fixed sighted N frames in .357 Mag for the NYSP. Those are not the Model 520 however as the 520 used the shrouded 4" .357 barrel of the Model 28. Above barrels are the standard 4" HB of the Model 58 (4" HB Model 10 on steroids')

This place needs a dedicated revolver picture thread. I'll start us off...

Here are a few 3" K Frame Smith & Wesson revolvers. Clockwise from bottom left (1) Model 13, Model 64 NY-1, Model 65, Model 10-7, another Model 65 at bottom center.

Let's see what you've got. Post anything...new revolvers, old revolvers, your favorite carry revolver, etc.

Nice!!
