To be objective here the Old Para Warthog and the "Rock" they are basically the same except for a few minor things, people please don't blast me with all the differences in detail.
The Pic in this thread is a earlier model apparently as the new one have a front sight post, ported etc.
The trigger is on the heavy side, nothing that can't be fixed. Sites are not bad, could be improved, as with most sights.
I'm still in the "break in" stage with this one.
The downside for me is I have a rather big hand so the "pinky finger " rests under the mag well, but is no different with the Warthog. It is heavy and loaded with 10rds, 230 ball it has some weight to it, in which I don't care, donāt like handguns that "feel like squirt guns". Yeah got a Sig-365, its lite / compact, Sig 250, Hellcat etc. They are small also.. Just like steel handguns ( just an opinion )
One of the mods made has been the addition of EGW guide rod kit. Drop in for the most part, functions flawlessly, ( it did before ) shoot everything from LSWC - 230 FMJ. Mec Gar makes 14rd clips that work great, Para clones but work "without mods" there's a guy that 3D prints extended grip for that mag, which basically eliminates the "Pinky" problem...there are some other mods I'll do down the road...sites, springs, trigger work..etc.
Note:
They throw in another spring and recommend you swap it out 500 rounds or so.. havenāt read anything about any issues, haven't reached that round count on that spring due to the EGW swap. I'm sure someone will find something, they always do.
Now I have custom 1911's, old NM, Gold Cups, etc. Granted it ain't no target pistol, mine shoots fine, no real issues, other than a heavy trigger pull. It has eaten everything it's been fed. Fits holsters designed for the Warthog.. will find out what its all about when I throw it in the Ransom Rest.
Here's a few picz plus a link to the guide rod kit
