I actually saw and held one at lgs today. Kinda liked it. It feels good in the hand, and the trigger was actually good to me. Good break and short reset.interesting color too. Im just not ready to be the guinea pig on another new gun.
Did you get to see it?Which LGS? I'm near Raleigh.
Just remember, when it comes to M&Ps, or any other blaster for that matter, how they feel in the hand at the LGS has no impact whatsoever on how well they will put rounds on target.
Been there, done that with M&P’s 1.0, and 2.0. Triggers, sights, optics and all. I’m not throwing any more money at those.
Hmm might have to make a trip over there tomorrow.Fuquay gun and gold
Between Glocks and 1911's, which gun points naturally for you?how they feel in the hand at the LGS has no impact whatsoever on how well they will put rounds on target.
Presentation from the holster is a trained skill.Between Glocks and 1911's, which gun points naturally for you?
This is a good test.Between Glocks and 1911's, which gun points naturally for you?
For sure Glock is master race!!!I had almost as good an initial sight picture with the G17 as I would if my eyes had been open.
I'm betting thats why the M&P 2.0 was disappointing to you. If thats true, then the Sig P320 is also a bad performer for you. This is a good test.
I’ve had so many other things going on that I haven’t shot anything at all in probably six weeks or more. Longest stretch in probably ten years.
I pulled out a full sized 1911 just now that I have run in a lot of matches, closed my eyes and presented it to the wall. Opened my eyes and was aimed way low.
Then pulled out your old G17, which has been shot in as many more matches, as well as running it in the 2.5 day Vickers/Hackathorn class a few years ago, and an all day class with Ricky Harris a few years ago, who you know.
I had almost as good an initial sight picture with the G17 as I would if my eyes had been open. I don’t think I was compensating knowing I was pointing low with the 1911. I tried to aim it as if a threat was in front of me in the dark.
Hackathorn has a great low light drill we ran in the dark after dinner and an all day class. I run a fiber front sight and a blacked out U notch rear. No night sights on that 17. No weapon mounted light. For sure Glock is master race!!!
Haha but it's a trained skill and muscle memory. For not shooting in 6 weeks that is good your presentation is still solid.
If I were you, I wouldn't touch anything but a Glock for the next 3 years. Your proficiency with a 43 tells me your body has done made its choice.Hackathorn has a great low light drill we ran in the dark after dinner and an all day class. We stood facing an IDPA silhouette at 7 yards. Maybe 10. In the dark. We could barely make out the target in front of us.
Then we would shine our handheld light briefly near the target (so as not to blind ourselves) just to get fixed on where the target was. Put the light away without taking our eyes off the target.
Draw, and put ten shots on the head of the target.
I was shocked to get all ten head shots.
I only have one 1911 left after going through a dozen or so the past few years, a Range Officer I sorta hot rodded, and it’s pretty scuffed up. It’s just fun to shoot and changes things up from running Glocks all the time.If I were you, I wouldn't touch anything but a Glock for the next 3 years. Is the front strap removable like the back ones are?The tungsten color is a little darker than I though it would be...and in a good way.
