Been watching motorcycle videos lately and of course maxwrist pops up. This dude antprilia he rides with is amazingly fast on his Aprilia. Apparently also can drive a car.

This is him driving the S2000. That dude can drive.

And "maxwrist" does literally everything you're not supposed to do on the Dragon to keep accidents from happening. It royally pisses off the locals. Screw this guy.
Yeah he also gets a lot of people hurt. He is famous so people see him and wanna ride with him and ride like idiots trying to impress him and eat shit.

I ride a bike and drive a performance car but I know my limitations. I wouldn't attempt that run like that - somewhere my head changed when I got old(er).

If you can't keep it on your side of the mustard while driving.... you're outpacing your skill. If you want to drive like that goto a track. Im surprised the s2k stayed on his side for the most part and the motorcycle didnt.

That's the single most important aspect of riding out there. There are SO MANY accidents where bikers will lay over the yellow and get clipped by a car, or a car puts two over and tags someone coming around a curve. One of our races out there was delayed one morning while we waited for a biker's body to be removed from down the hill after she crossed and hit an oncoming vehicle around 6am :(

Yeah I used to live in Robbinsville on 129. I ALWAYS stayed in my lane (unless safely passing a motorcycle) and ALWAYS rode within my limits.

I rode for many years, and did my share of stupid sh%^ for sure. But seeing videos like this - and the attention it garners the dumbasses acting like that- literally turns my stomach.
This should be treated as video evidence of felony endangerment.
Assholes like this have clearly never helped clean up flesh off the road with a snowshovel- and have zero regard for the safety of others. These are often the same kind of folks who're surprised that it hurts so badly when shot.

Just my .02.

You can just ride whatever speed you want on the Dragon?

I've never been there but I've heard of it.
The cops up there are courteous, but will nail you for driving like a moron.

I'm guessing his familiarity with the road accounts for a lot.

.

When I lived out west I rode many tens of thousands of miles in the mountains all over. I had local twisties I rode almost daily. So was pretty brisk rider.

There were local drivers that were impossible to keep up with on a bike. A real driver in a Miata will humble you on a technical road! Seen quite a few riders fail to realize this and get sucked into riding over their heads following a driver like that. S2000 is like a Miata that did a bunch of 'roid cycles. Hard to imagine a faster or funner car on that type of road.

Max wrist is such a doosh. He's a real bad look for new riders. Or any riders really.
But I have to admit I did my fair share of riding like a tool. I am glad there were no gopros and social media like there is now. I would have had to prove to the world what a rickey racer hero I was. That would have sealed my fate, lol.

Like the gixxerbrah guy?

He video'd himself doing a 45 minute drive in 20, he probably AVERAGED 140mph on the highway
Now he's wanted because, well, he gave the evidence to the public

I still don’t understand how people post videos of them breaking traffic laws constantly and they don’t get in trouble.

Like everyone who posts deals gap videos including the one above.

I don’t go to places like that because I know I can’t resist seeing how I would do. Same reason I don’t ride in a group. Just don’t do it. Race track is different: no animals running out, no gravel in the corners and no one coming the other way.

I have ridden and driven the dragon safely each tume. Saw wrecks both times. Fun but safe is stull fun. The twisties dont need speed.

I hate riders like that. Anywhere

I rode the Dragon once a few years ago on my KLR650, two weeks after getting my 1st bike in 30 years, and with only minimal experience before that.

Buddy and I trailered our bikes out there and stayed for 2 days of riding the dragon and similar mountain roads. Was the most fun I've ever had with my pants on, but I made it home only by the grace of God.

I was riding the dragon at 95%, I thought, which was stupid in itself. Turns out I was riding at 105%. Something that interested me passed me going the opposite way and it distracted me for a split second. Next thing I know I can't make the next corner, or in that split second I convinced myself I couldn't make it. I had to decide whether to try anyway and almost certainly crash, or take my chances and cross well into the opposite lane on a blind corner.

I chose the latter, and could have easily killed myself and others but the good Lord gave me a pass that time. I'lll go again because it's so much fun, but I'm not riding that close to my limits on the street ever again.

Those other roads can be just as bad. I had to haul butt from a Sunday race in Robbinsville to Greenville, SC for a wedding. Standard cab Silverado 1500, open trailer with the race car on it. I SHOULD have gone 74 to 26, but I believe the route the GPS took me down was either 28 or 23. I have never driven so white-knuckled in my life. You could smell the brakes at nearly every twist and turn, and there were more than a handful of spots where it was a looooong way down.
