School me on AR quality.

Like I said, I want to see where you can walk in with $700 cash and walk out with a brand new Colt, DD, or BCM rifle from an FFL retail establishment. I wasn't the one who threw out that figure.

BTW if you spent $700 for a PSA rifle, it would have an FN premium CHF CL barrel, and every magpul doodad attachment, along with a $200 gift certificate in ammo.

For the record, the rifles PSA has on their shelves are more expensive than the sale rifles and builder kits online.

I’ve seen too many PSA issues to even remotely compare them to BCM, Colt, DD, etc

When I bought my Mazda CX9, I got a really good deal on it. It had about 90% of anything I could want in a car. I just didn't really care for the color(white). But I have grown used to it. If someone came up to me and said "LoL, you drive a Mazda, you should have saved your money for a (insert vehicle of choice)!" we would all consider that person a jerk. What I spend my money on, and the needs it covers is my business. You do you, I do me. Now, if someone wants to explain how a vehicle that costs 40-100% more would have been a "better choice", then they have a tough row to hoe.

Now, if I were to say "My Mazda CX9 is JUST AS GOOD AS your (insert vehicle of choice here)!" then it is actually probably false statement. Mine doesn't have on board mapping, it is AWD, not true 4WD, no sun roof, no surround sound, has smaller interior capacity than some, less gas mileage than some, rougher ride than some, plastic in the place of wood in places, plastic in place of metal in others.

So the >REAL< question is, is it worth it to you to spend that extra 40-100% more on a vehicle for those things that "make it better". Because in all honesty, they are better. It is just if the cost accounts for the gain. If you want to pay $800-2000 for an AR, then awesome, it probably does have a more tuned trigger, higher QC done, more stylized ergonomics, added bells and whistles, smoother finish and so on. It may even last longer under extreme stresses. That's awesome! Enjoy it! Its a sweet rifle. But I find no real need in defending my ARs that I put together with PSA parts and Anderson lowers. They do what I need them to do, I spent an amount of money I was happy with, and they have performed fine. I will never argue they are "as good" as a BCM, Colt, DD, or whatever, but for my uses they are perfect. Whats the shame in that?

And I've seen too many PSA kits, rifles, uppers not have any issues at all. Hundreds probably. And I'm not comparing them directly, but like @B00ger says .....40-100% more. This thread is about quality, but it is also about value. If you are buying a brand new rifle to stick in the safe, and never fire, and maybe one day when your neighbor runs out the door with his and says it's revolution man! Then buy a Colt 6920 and pray their multiple bankruptcy filings haven't affected their quality control. Or spend $1500 on a DD or a BCM and pray their reputation pays off. Or buy a PSA or Aero or Delton or anything else that has a 'milspec' whatever, learn the platform, learn how to diagnose FTFs or God Forbid, have a reload that was WAY overpressured like I experienced this week, and watch it NOT blow up in your hand........

That's my local retailer and the prices I can pick up a Bravo Company rifle:

If you feel like you got a good value from your rifle, regardless of the brand, then fantastic for you, glad you’re happy.
Well theres also the upgrade factor. I have grown to like 3.5lb triggers and superlight barrel and rail profiles on rifles and very few mfgs do that. So why not either start out with a kit, or upgrade a cheaper rifle that already works so you're not chasing multiple gremlins at once? I am very happy with every rifle I have ever gotten or built with value-oriented basic parts and uograded thru trial and error. People who arent as interested or mechanically inclined should probably buy the car/house/rifle they want in the beginning and leave the DIY stuff to others I suppose

I'm done with your "fun" . You keep changing the requirements. Now it has to be you have to walk into a retail establishment. Guess what? I can't walk into a PSA retail establishment without driving several hours. Oh and its another state so I can't have the transfer done there.

I'm not sure I've seen anyone trash Aero here lately (or anyone that matters). I have a full Aero rifle, a BCM upper/Aero lower combo, BA receivers and barrels including the BA CHF MK18 barrel. I also have 4 COlt LE6920s. The argument remains the same. PSA is one price/quality point, and then for a bit more, there are better examples.

Oh and the $800 BCM that sold on here the other day, not a rare sight. The upper @Chad was selling could have been added to a nice used BCM lower which I've gotten for $300 before and you'd have a great gun for sub $900.

Well..not to be "that guy"...and these are great deals...but you have to add, at minimum, a $40 stock, $30 hand guard, and $50-100 in sights...so even though the skeleton is $650, its an $800 or so rifle when all is said and done. Still, not a bad price.
It came with a grip, so you could add a $39 Larue Stock, an $8 Magpul trigger guard, and a $150 rail, to be at $800. $850 with the MBUS deal from PSA.

Got both of my $605 OEM2s in today. Went ahead and took one and finished it out:

$605 Colt OEM2
$15 Transfer
$17 B5 Coyote Brown Grip (wasn't required, it had a grip)
$90 B5 Brown SOPMOD Mil Overrun
$136 556 Tactical 12.3" Samson Keymod Rail
$80 Diamondhead Irons
So under $950 and you have this:

Well, my point being, it isn’t a $600-700 rifle, it is “better”, and an awesome rifle. I just chose to build an AR pistol and Rifle trough PSA for the same cost. So I have two good firearms as opposed to one great one. Different strokes bro.

I have that upper on a Mega Arms lower. It's a super nice rifle. I came to my senses before letting it go.
I have owned countless PSA rifles. No issues with em but t think you kidding yourself if you think they are anywhere close to top tier stuff
