Somebody needs some more training

Why the HELL did all of them open fire??? 20 rounds??? Maybe the higher capacity 9mm IS NOT the way to go, give them 10mm so they'll only be able to get one or two shots off.
The first cam cop had a clear pumpkin CNS shot. I get it's stressful, yet Guillermo DIDN'T have a muzzle pointed at the cops.
Again, post the names of the ones that shot the innocent, then prosecute for murder.

I bet she's glad they intervened. She might've been killed!

Is CFF having glitches? Or have I screwed up?
I got logged out for some reason, signed back in. Then received a You're Not Allowed message while I was logged in.

Well, some folks don't want them training with the best shooters in the world.

Tasers?
Batons?
Judo chop?
Wait a few minutes and let things calm down? <---unless he was sawing at the lady's neck, the article wasn't clear on that subject.

Raw nerve?

I'm not against peace officers, I greatly appreciate the good ones. I am against those who practice malevolence, regardless of their title.
An argument could be made in the opposite position as well, acceptable combat collateral damage?

Got a better look on my home computer. I think the one that got her is the one where they show the second body cam. Looks like he was shooting as the perp was going down and got the hostage in the head.

I played it several times and I think you are right. It looked like was the second officer who got her.

They never should have let him get closer to the woman,
Taser should have stopped him before he closed on the woman.
No laser on their service weapons?
Terrible.

Had they killed him before he took a hostage, they would definitely have been prosecuted for murder in LA and there would have been massive riots.

Look on the bright side. No dogs were harmed in the filming of this video.
And all the officers got to go home that night.

Why the hell did she stand there and watch him get shot with 6 bean bags and not de-ass the area? Still she should have not been shot by the Po-po

Are you kidding me? I cant believe I just watched that. That was just ABSOLUTELY INSANE. I cannot believe there was more than one shooter. I cannot believe they shot him (and her). That first officer could have killed him pretty easily, if he was a good shot. No one decided to slow their roll and think for a second? I'm just dumbfounded.

Because the majority of the population isn't too bright. I know that is a news flash to you. LOL

WTF. I've had trouble seeing the whole video with out errors, but from what I saw the first officer was the only one that had a chance at a clear shot. The other officers should not have fired unless this first officer wasn't present. Even then, it's a precision shot, one officer. Personally, it would have been a walk up to no miss range.

Was he using a chair as a shield?

TASER policy now requires physical attack or imminent physical attack as it's considered deadly force by many courts, so they would have had to decide if he was heading toward the hostage to harm her. In that case it's clearly authorized deadly force so choice is firearm. The TASER likewise fails at about 50% of the time. In today's Policing the emphasis is on de-escalation, verbal judo, conflict resolution and anti-bias training. All that processing slows the decision making in instances like this then throw in the current climate of prosecution both literal and figuratively and there is hesitancy or failure to act appropriately.

There is a crisis afoot that no one is discussing and that is lack of good candidates entering the policing profession, pair that with a mass exodus of experienced officers hired during the "crack cocaine epidemic" in the 1990's retiring. The current policing candidate has a 4 year degree, lacks firearms training and familiarity, lacks fitness and lacks the ability to handle stress. When a bad incident goes down they are left trying to catch up and then subsequently overreact trying to close the gap. There are literally multiple Law Enforcement academies having to postpone their courses until enough candidates sign-up.

Wow just wow......

I am not going to armchair quarterback back the series of events that I just witnessed but I honestly said to myself “oh he’s got a clean and easy CNS shot” then I saw the part about the hostage being fatally wounded and thought, no friggin way then “bang bang bang”, my jaw dropped, my condolences to her family.

I'm second guessing everything in this video looking at just the body cam footage. What happened before the intruder got to the location a good distance prior to the woman? Why is the bean bag cop practising precision shooting at a slow rate of fire. Why did the other officer not cut off the retreat of the gunman? Why didn't the officer take a head shot and eliminate the threat? I practice with open sites and less than perfect vision and I get almost all my rounds in the head area of the target. I'll move my targets closer to the firing line the next time I go to the range. I'll guess and say that was less than 15 feet.

Not exactly Delta or HRT material....
OK, I know I'll feel thick when you tell me what it is...
Google Foo reveals HRT=
- hormone replacement therapy
- Hampton Roads Transit
- Holden Racing Team
- Kava je kriva za sve - četvrtak
- Micron Solutions Inc stock
- HRT Formula 1 Team
- HRT vijesti
- HRT 1 (Croatia) Live-Stream
- HRT Estate and letting agents

Hostage Rescue Team

The guys who shoot women holding infants and help burn up women and children when the DoJ plays DoD on the domestic battlefield.

Quit you bushing around the beat, how do you really feel?
I thought the Ruby Ridge murder was the FBI.

I don't go to the range as much as I would like to, but my job that I get paid for doesn't require me to carry a gun. I'm certain, if my job were a police officer, I would be utilizing the free gun range and free bullets. It's terrible that the woman was killed. She had what appeared to be a walker and was unable to get out of harms way prior to the shooting.

It was - the HRT is an FBI paramilitary unit that was at both Ruby Ridge (the woman holding an infant) and Waco (more women and children cleansed with fire).
And the interest part...

Lon Tomohisa Horiuchi is the American FBI agent who shot Vicki Weaver at Ruby Ridge in 1992. An FBI HRT sniper and former US Army officer, he was involved in controversial deployments during the 1992 Ruby Ridge standoff and 1993 Waco siege.

The reason they won't go to jail is because they can say they weren't saving her... they were saving themselves from the possibility of knife attack.

Painting with an awful broad brush here....

Well, when they provide us with a HUGE canvas the brushes get rather large, you don’t paint your house with a Bob Ross beginners kit

Whoa, whoa, WHOA! You guys need to back the truck up!

Did they get the bad guy or not? Yes?

Then end of story!

I don't want to hear any more sympathy whining about Stockholm Victims acting as human shields any more!

I very clearly remember my hostage training during my Deadly Force checkout at my first command. Bad guy about to damage/steal the strategic weapons on a missile submarine takes a hostage, he's just found out how ineffective 180 pounds of dead meat is for cover.

There coulda been SAC weapons in that house, for all we know!

One would think that, but a majority 90% or more of officers shoot once a year for a total static qualification of 5o RDS per year. Large cities typically at an indoor range with consistent temperatures and lighting. The free ammo is the 50 RDS for quals. and whatever they carry. Not all agencies have their own ranges, many have to borrow other agency ranges, hoping for handouts on time. Often times ranges are being utilized by 4-5 different agencies.

I fault them completely personally but a majority of cops do very little firearms, tactical or fitness related training. They simply are not prepared for these scenarios, range time is sacrificed for Verbal Judo and de-escalation techniques. Police management (not leadership) does not prepare it's officers for these scenarios it's easier to just throw them under the bus when the time comes, patrol cops are like grunts, bit of training, suit them up and throw them into the mix. It's not pretty but it's reality.
