@DCGallim 's thread about cool cars made me think of a pic I took last week at the gym of a TERRIBLE car.
Post em up, the nonsense you see while youre out and about.

I guess it doesn’t honor the spirit of the thread, but this van absolutely sucked. It was a hand me down work truck when I first started with my company.

Constant issues with it, no power, uncomfortable, loud, and just generally terrible.

The price was pretty good I suppose, but that’s about it.

2008 Saturn Astra XR. Sharp looking car, very unique/great looking black with a purple-ish pearl paint, factory Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires, but that's where it ended. Stiff ride with loads of body roll. Weird euro controls with no USB/aux inputs anywhere. 1.8L engine that was completely neutered by GM USA so it would run on 87 octane, and consequently, would foul plugs like crazy. Headlights as bright as a birthday candle. Electric locking gas door that was notorious for failing in the locked position.

Best part, is that the ECU was mounted to the back of the engine, so as it failed (repeatedly, due to heat and vibration), it generated a ton of drive by wire errors that would send it into limp mode. However, the limp mode was never intended for cars with a manual transmission, so what it did was turn off the throttle for the first 50% of the pedal travel, and then give you effectively half throttle from there. So, taking off on any hill, or in bumper to bumper traffic, basically forced you to mat the gas and slip the clutch as the only reliable way to get it moving.

Of course, GM also failed to program in a failsafe so that it wouldn't come out of limp mode until key off/key on... So, you'd be in bumper to bumper traffic trying to get going, when all of a sudden the TB and ECU would start communicating properly and would go to WOT, forcing you to slam on the brakes to avoid rear ending the car in front of you. Made for some fun rush hour commutes on I-77/485...

I don't think a Honda Fit was a terrible car. The owner's choice of graphics is not to my liking, though.

I'm sorry, but the Tracker truck is too damn cool.

POS? The Chevy Colorado work truck with under a 100,000 miles about to toss its second transmission. My wife's previously owned Ford Fiesta. Also, any Saturn, any older KIA.
I might have called the guy to ask if he was firm on his price on the tracker truck.

I believe this was done to make it easier to let things slide out of the truck bed 🤣 one could only hope the rest of the lift kit was on back order but we all know this crazy Carolina trend.

I just don’t understand that. It’s one of the dumbest things someone can do to a truck. Why???

That dude that drives that "truck" I bet gives hand jobs to his passengers.

To me, this falls in that "I-own-a-Jeep-so-I-must-buy-EVERYTHING" category.
Sadly, a lot are there. Thankfully there's some folks like Qball, and others, who are not and have theirs just looking right. No stupid crap like a hood scoop that, lets be real, is not functional

Jeeps are perfect.
After you replace the wheels and tires.

And the bumpers.

And the axles.

And the suspension.

And the seats.

Probably the lights.

And the doors.

Add more lights.

And a winch.

Maybe a hi-lift Jack.

Now a couple more lights.

Needs skeleton doors.

New spare tire holder.

Still waiting on the color matching D ring shackles with captured R clips.

Yep, Jeeps are perfect.

The eyebrows also appear to be non-functional.

I must add, I am curious about Frank. I see him often on my morning commute across Cary and have seen him pull out of a regarded private school ($$) in the carpool line and is always headed in the direction of my office. I snapped this pic over a year ago and have seen him within the last week again on the same route. He is making a statement. 🤷‍♂️
This is Frank. Frank doesn’t give a F. Be like Frank. 😂
