You stole a bird perch for your watches?
You veddy mean man.

My almost always watch is a Wilson Watch Works Automatic Sport that I had built a little over a year ago for my Birthday.

My old Seiko quartz died. I've just ordered a replacement - a used (eBay) Seiko 5 Automatic (self winding). I'm tired of replacing batteries. This watch's case is 35mm wide. I don't like the current trend of 40mm+ case diameter that is the current fad.

I've got a nice Seiko that hardly gets worn, a Suunto that I bought in Afghanistan and three Luminox that I wear most of the time. Next one will be a TAG.

Been wearing a Citizen Eco-Drive pro diver for about 6 years now. Thing is big, and heavy, but I'm very rough on watches, and I can't kill this thing, lol.

For those with mechanical movements, do you wear your watch when shooting? I trypically take mine off or switch to quartz. What do you all do?

I always leave mine on while shooting.

I have no concrete evidence that it actually hurts a mechanical movement, but I do not wear them. Reason? I took a class with TAG last year. During the shotgun phase (55 12ga high brass shells) I had an ink pen in my pocket that had the point damn near blow out. Ink all over. So I know for a fact there is concussion. Question is is it enough to cause harm to the movement. At about $200 to have them serviced professionally, I would rather not risk it.

I am with you Mike, I don't have any evidence, but I would rather not hurt anything. The only manufacturer I can find that lists specs on shock is Ball which lists shock resistance up to 5,000Gs.

I've worn the Rolex, Omega, Hamilton and Grand Seiko while shooting, no harm to any of them. I don't think concussion is an issue since they are all well sealed, but the acceleration of the watch during recoil could be hard on the winder pivot I suppose.

Apple Watch daily. ''Twas a gift from my company. I like it. Where it working out and it gets beat up with kettle bells and dumb bells. I did replace the strap with a NATO strap.

Also do have a Suunto Core with several NATO straps for it that never gets worn. I need to sell it.

I am still learning about mechanical movements, below is a photo of a broken lower pivot on the balance wheel. In short I broke my watch. Most likely the movement was broken from shock. Surprisingly the watch still worked, it just ran faster than normal. I am upgrading to an ETA 2824-2.

Just got my G-Shock the other day, not too big despite having small wrists, great all around watch so far. This one is a little tough to read in low light but the illumination button is easy to find and I actually like the "stealthy" look of the dark screen.

Updated with some real pics:

G-Shock here, too. I am very hard on watches and rarely had one last more than six months. My wife bought this one for me for father's day about 4 years ago, and it's still going strong. I forgot the model number, it syncs with the atomic clock so I never have to wind it and the face is a solar panel so the battery should last just about forever. My favorite part is if it's dark and I look at my watch, it automatically lights up. It wasn't terribly expensive. I think she paid about 120 bucks.

Just got a new one today... Got the non-chrono Eco-Drive I've been eyeing after it dropped 30% on Amazon. Swapped the OD canvas band for a simple Barton brand medium brown leather band (great for only $24). The case is only 37mm but it's nice to have some variety, 37mm-48mm currently, with 42mm being perfect for me.

One of my favourite watches. Dial was refinished, but they did a nice job.

No screw down crown like a modern watch, I know it must be a chore to own such an outdated watch. I'd be happy to take it off your hands for you, and so lighten your heart. $5. :p

Shot a match in Southport a week ago with two guys on my squad who were both wearing Submariners. I clearly need to up my game.

They shot better than me too. lol

Nice watches!
Omega crystals are expensive, but at least I can still get most of them. Yours may have originally had a magnifier over the date window.

I might have it replaced at some point. I don't really wear them anymore though.

A cheap Casio solar watch just fits my needs better. I am a simpleton.

I understand completely, I'm also a simpleton. [emoji3] Just be careful not to wear it in humid or rainy weather.

My grandfathers 1916 made Hamilton 974 Pocket watch. The inscription inside the back case reads.....from Doris to Lee, Nov. 1920.

Hamilton 974
Date: 1916 Grade: 974 Size: 16 17 jewel

My father gave this to me before he past away in 1985. I sent the watch to the renowned watchmaker Gena Lubensky in Hooksett, NH. to have it restored many years ago. It keeps perfect time.

I'm not one for the expensive watches. I won't knock them nor criticize those who plop thousands down on them, but it's just to not for me.

However...
If I had the dough, I'd be all over the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 11 45th anniversary edition.

At about $10k, it'll have to wait until I win the lottery that I don't play.

I'd settle for a 40th anniversary edition since that marks my first son's birthday. But I like the styling of the 45th much better than any of them. Plus, if I ever end up on the surface of the moon, I'll still be able to tell time.

Until then, I've got an EcoDrive Skyhawk Blue Angels edition (I think it's the first edition, definitely not the current version). Got it as a gift years ago. Other than some of the paint wearing off around the bezel, it does great.

Here ya go...if you've got a whiskey problem AND a watch problem....let your problems combine:

"The world’s oldest whisky, Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862, was opened in a ceremony on 14 March at the five-star H15 Boutique Hotel in Warsaw, Poland, as part of the project linking the worlds of rare spirits and collectible watches. Called the Whiskey Watch range, each timepiece will contain just one drop of Old Vatted Glenlivet and will be available for purchase starting 8th April for $45,000. Only 50 of these watches will be made out of which 40 pieces will be available in a steel case and 10 pieces in a gold case."

Got a Citizen ecodrive on the way (it'll be my 3rd or 4th)

It's used, but supposed to be in excellent condition, ordered from a guy on a edc type forum in the UK.
New it was about 200 bucks, I paid 80 shipped
Pics when it arrives, Im looking forward to it!

I've gotten out of wearing my watches, they just aren't comfortable on my wrist anymore. But Skagen is the most comfortable watch I have ever worn. I have a Tag links chrono with brown face that I never wear, a couple skagens, and a tissot which is pretty nice. I haven't worn a watch in three or four years now.
