HBARIt’s really fat, over an inch diameter under the handguard. It’s a DPMS 1/9, 16”.

And for comparison with the BA middy that will replace it.

That'd be an HBAR I reckon. Big and heavy as can be while fitting standard parts.

I have a block and a reaction rod you can useThanks. It may actually just stay on as it is just not bulging so far. I need to borrow an upper vise block.

I got a good deal on the rifle (never fired DPMS police trade-in) and I want to use it for a lightweight project with a pinned 14.5” midlength. At least that was the plan. As of now the barrel nut is not moving… I am hoping I can remove it without wrecking the A2 upper that I really like.why are you removing it............?

@Tim is closer but I also have those if you need.I have a block and a reaction rod you can use
No, that was just to apply heat to the barrel nut.in your picture, i see you are vising the upper near the carry handle...............is that how you are attempting to remove the barrel?
This one is weird. It’s a rifle cut, not M4 feed ramps.HBAR as some mentioned seems right, what's the gas block size .750 or .850?
There are so many words used Bull Barrel, Heavy Barrel, Varmint, etc.
have several different barrels, some with .850 / .936 gas blocks rifle
