What do you interpret from this sign? (regarding legally concealed handguns)

The item right above the “No Firearms” say “No Cellphones” … bet they do not enforce that one!
So not only is it questionable if they want you to be able to defend yourself, but they don't want you calling for help. How big is this park, big enough to get lost in?

I'm always carrying when I visit the ABC stores in FV and Helly Springs. Guess I should read door signs more often. Or not! 😛
Fuquay is not posted as of today.

Thats a beautiful park. But to the question, a valid NC ID and NC concealed carry permit with be an authorized firearm. If they wanted no firearms it would simply be stated that way.

I concur.

From what I read is NONE of the items listed are prohibited.
It states the the following are prohibited;
NO alcohol beverages
I read that as “no alcohol beverages are prohibited.” So all are allowed.
Am I wrong?
According to the rules of the English language you are correct. They are prohibiting NOT having guns or booze, those flaming idiots.

My interpretation of that sign: No metal detectors = concealed is concealed...
Thats how I live my life as well. Armed and Openly Carrying my face without a diaper. Waiting on someone to ask why I dont wear one....

Well you see it's illegal to wear a mask AND carry this kind of weapon in my pants

From what I remember several years back when the did some updates the concealed carry laws the no firearms was removed from the parks but they commented on they were not making an effort in updating any of the signs. The sign you pictured may have been one of the old ones. I don't think they are on the new ones for the parks.

Don’t ask
Don’t tell

Before I started visiting the VA, I routinely carried in my doctor’s office. He knew it and didn’t care. The VA will call the cops on you and have you either arrested or escorted off the property. Being my wife works for them, I try to at least leave it in the truck while I’m there.

I've never known a group so terrified of weapons as the military and their buildings.

Today was the first time I’ve seen that sign, but I’ve driven past it many times after breakfast at the Red Barn.

Plus in the same town, there is this sign on the front door of the liquor store. “NO Firearms”
Surprising since I’ve never known any other state ABC board store to be posted. But this is one is co-owned with the town.

And the guy that works the counter would never say a word about it. I betcha. I also bet the last time I was in there I broke a few of those including profanity in my conversation with the fella. :)

They got a new guy from Staten Island there. One of the ABC honchos was there in a state owned black Tahoe asking the guy where he was from and welcoming him to the south. I may or may not have been more observant of the front door on that particular day.

Yep, you’d think that after they train you the use of deadly force, they’d just accept that we carry weapons!

Interpreting the English language literally, you are correct. Course, who knows how law enforcement or a court would interpret it. I predict they would say that the sign prohibits possession of all weapons. Getting into a grammatical argument with cops or judges is a losing proposition.

Not necessarily, the exact wording does matter. I believe there actually was a case where somebody went to court over a "no smoking allowed" case arguing it only states that it was permissible to not smoker and won because the judge said "I get what you were trying to say here but you didn't word it that way".
