What have you recently purchased that is firearms related?

No problem:

Ammo is pretty resilient stuff, so for the most part just keep it from being submerged in water for any length of time and it will be good to go. Remember, militaries around the world are tossing it around in trucks and in packs in all sorts of conditions from the heat and sand of the desert to the frigid wastes of the arctic.

Many of us, myself included, but surplus ammo cans from various sources, or use the field boxes they sell at big box stores to organize our ammo. Sometimes I’ll keep those little desiccant packs that come in electronics and toss those in.

As far as case sizes:

Most case sizes we buy in bulk are 500 or 1000 rounds for most standard calibers.

I was freaking out buying 2 boxes of .380 today...but it went fast, so I can see I might need to get these in bigger quantities now that I know I can do a range trip by myself and that I really like shooting!

Mail order from the Armory...

500rds of 9mm = $87
500rds of 5.56 = $104
Not having to dig into reserves = priceless
I'll check prices on .380. I can see that this is going to be an expensive "hobby".....

That same case was 16.2 cents today.
I was at the range today....I was looking for Jeppo, but he wasn't there...I guess I picked the wrong day/time......

(Did you get the gun? Sorry I missed you, but I had fun!!)

@Millie if you want some real deals on stuff, subscribe to wikiarms and check gun.deals websites. You can be overwhelmed at the amount of stuff sold cheaply every day on those 2 sites alone.

9mm, 7.62x39, and 5.56 are back at their pre-2012 lows, sometimes with free shipping. By black friday, barring some unforeseen idiot shooting up a NFL game or something, I think prices will be at 20 year lows.

Thanks for the leads, and since I'm using .380, I really hope I can find good prices, as it looks like I'm going to be a regular at the range.....

Millie, you may want to pick up your brass after shooting. This cleans up the range and you can reload it later to save money. If you don't want to reload, sale it here on the forum or online to those that do to recope some of that money toward more ammo!

That's an interesting idea, wonder if the range lets you do that. I just swept it up and tossed it in the barrel . If I keep up with the multiple box shooting trips, though, I can see how it's going to get expensive, fast.
As to me reloading....nope. (Not that I know anything about it, but it doesn't sound like a fun or safe thing for me to do!)

My biggest beef with the P07 is it's slick grip. When I got it it had Talons on it. They are ok unless you have sweaty or wet hands. I also tried the Brooks Tactical A-grip. When the fuzz crushed down over time it was almost as slick as the stock grip to me. So I visited the local skate shop and picked up a sheet of Mob Grip Tape for $6.95, enough to last years. I cut it to fit the area that causes me the most grief and just like that...problem solved. I can't feel it against my skin while carrying either since my holster covers a good portion of that area. Since it works so well for me I will probably cut another piece and make it look a little better.

I was the other guy shooting there this morning. ;)

250rds of FN 5.7 and one FN PS90 magazine from a member here.

It's a girl Sonic Boom and 2 boxes of FN FiveseveN ammo at the Apex Academy Sports the other night at 21:40. I was the only one in the store, it was glorious.

I got an awesome deal on a Noveske lower from kcult, which led me to a lightweight Spikes CHF barrel, Anderson lightweight upper and a closeout MI lightweight keymod handguard. Total for all is under $800. WooHoo!!

ETA: It weighs a nose hair more than 5 lbs. without a mag and only Magpul flip-up sights.

At the indoor ranges I've shot at, most, will state if you buy the ammo there the brass is the property of the range. Some, even go as far as saying all brass is the property of the range. They sell it to reloaders or as scrap.

I've always picked up my own brass. Got yelled at once. I brought my bullets in, I take the brass.

That sounds like a lot at first, but if you shoot a lot......
I can see where you could go thru that amount pretty quick!

I sold about 1300 rounds of ammo to a gentleman last week. He said he had about 165,000 rounds of it at his house. And I'm sure he isn't the only one. It doesn't go bad so stack it deep when you can.

Well it is a Blackhawk holster for a Glock. You didn't expect to win beauty contests did you?:p

Noisefighters gel pads HL-100 to replace the set on my HL Impact Sport earmuffs.
These are silicone gel filled, about 50% thicker and have recess for your safety glasses to fit so you don't get a poor seal or headaches.
They snap right in like original.

Update: Super comfortable, blocking out more noise (I also use 3M foam plugs).

Thank you!! I never knew such a thing existed but this is exactly what I need. My glasses get pressed against my head giving me a headache after a long day at the range.

Purchased 1,200rd Fed .223 for 0.22cpr after rebate. Already got my shipping notification, 10hr after purchasing.

Update: it works great. Just looks like it's not for the gun, but it fits snug and nice.
I, personally, like their holsters because of the gun retention system.
No, they aint as pretty as something Chief or Curt would make, but they work and are very affordable

150 more rounds of .22 lr as part of a bigger order with Cabela’s. It’s nice to have a job where you can earn up to a $50 gift card each month just for doing your job. I also use ammo as a filler to make sure I qualify for free shipping.

Gun show today, I scored three boxes of Winchester primers for $15 each. Also picked up a box of Federal AR Match primers and a pound of the new Sport Pistol powder.

In the category of impulse buys, I ran across some Garand clips, so I picked up a 5 round clip and a “sled” that allows single loading rounds. A couple of hats and a bumper sticker rounded out the trip.
