What's for dinner?

Dove Gumbo!

View attachment 21625

Onions, carrots, jalapenos, shallots, garlic, canned tomatoes, okra; meats were bacon (!), leftover London broil, Andouille sausage, shrimp, SPAM (yep!), and, of course, dove breasts from today's opening day activities...

This did NOT suck. :)
Okay, now you're just showing off. That looks and sounds spectacular.

I'm at W Jefferson this weekend and I've got family coming over later. I'm grilling a pork loin, some Hasselback potatoes, and some of my onions with the bullion cubes, green beans, along with some toasted French bread. My company is bringing desert.
I'll be lighting the charcoal pretty soon.

Tonight, Lemon Dill Salmon Burgers, Rosemary Fries, and Grilled Corn on the Cob coated with light mayo and Romano Cheese.
You make your own salmon burgers or are they pre made? I've been wanting to try the ones in keep seeing in the case at Publix

And if you make your own, what do you use as a binder? Eggs & breadcrumbs?

Yes, these are the ones you see at Publix. The ones we had last night the Salmon Dill I thought were just ok. My wife didn't really like them at all. But the Southwestern Salmon burgers they have are delicious. They have corn, black beans, tomatos and peppers in them.

"Kentucky" bourbon salmon with grilled zucchini and steamed broccoli at a Ruby Tuesdays in Hagerstown.

Food fine, beer acceptable. Good conversation with non-active Marine helping with the leaky bar sink, a fellow 50+ er lamenting our lost youthful vigor: bartender & bar trainee friendly and had a sense of humor, made another road trip dinner a little better.

Tonight Southwestern Salmon Burgers, Rosemary fries, Bushes Baked beans. The Salmon burgers have corn, black beans, tomato's and peppers in them.

Tonight, Cauliflower baked with Caramelized Onions, Garlic, and olive oil. Then mixed with Whole Wheat Pasta. Romano Cheese of course.

Family asked for grilled salmon again so paired that with rice and green beans

The dogs are for the youngest who's still a bit picky

What have you got against Manchego?!

Never heard of it. I had to look it up since I thought you were kidding me. What's it taste like.? It doesn't look like a grating cheese.

It's good stuff! Traditionally made with sheeps' milk, Spanish origin. I've had some that is soft-ish, but most is aged to a pretty fair hardness.

Not that I have anything against Romano! I just support FQCK Diversity. (Fromage Queso Cheese Kase.) For the children. Except the lactose intolerant ones.

Tonight, Ribs on the grill, Corn on the cob on the grill with mayo and Romano Cheese. Sorry no Manchego, LOL. ;) Homemade Potato salad, and Bushes Beans.

Just put on some Vortex wings. Nature's Seasoning on the ones for the wife and Kickin' Chicken on mine. Added a little hunk of pecan wood for some smoke flavor.

That sounds great even though I can only pronounce about 6 words in that menu.

LOL I can't pronounce them either but I can cook them. Here are some stock pics illustrate what I made. We served it with a few white wines and then a nice Napa Cabernet with the steak.
