What's for dinner?

The start...

I cheated and used sauce from a jar, dressed it up a little with some herbs, sauteed up an onion, a yellow and an orange pepper, and tossed them together. Finish with linguine noodles and a pan seared boneless pork loin so it looks like this

And the whole fam damily is happy

I wasn't very hungry so I ate a little bit of leftover popcorn. Now snacking on a little bit of cheese along with a glass of whiskey.

More chicken salad with homemade kefir ranch....

No pics but my wife actualy cooked tonight! Holy crap. And it was very good.

Fresh mozzarella and tomatoes with basil and balsamic vinegar. Then we had some pasta cavatappi(?) with chicken and a pesto sauce. Yum.

My six year old little girl wanted steak, so Daddy grilled steak.

Filet from a local butcher, rare.

Mashed sweet potatoes.

Corn on the cob.

French style green beans in butter with shallots.

Both she and my two year old son eat their steaks the same way.

EDIT:. It was my first time making mashed sweet potatoes. They were good, but could be better. Any of you guys have a great recipe for some, hook me up.

My wife just mixes in butter and brown sugar to taste. I like to slice them, run with a little olive oil, season and throw them on the grill. I'll usually season with whatever I have close by since I usually have about 20 kinds lying around, but cinnamon and nutmeg based blends are good on sweet potatoes.

Makin' up for a few weak meals recently...

Salad Windini! Romain, carrot, celery, broccoli, 1 leftover mushroom & thyme seasoned chicken breast from yesterday, and some lightly salted dry roast peanuts! Ken's ceasar dressing.

Yeah, I did a little milk and some cinnamon/sugar. I never liked the damned things until I was about 35 or so.

I'll have to try that next time.

Tonight, Shrimp in Olive Oil & Garlic, Sun Dried Tomato's, Broccoli Rabe, Whole Wheat Pasta, Romano Cheese. Broc Rabe Shrimp pasta 002.JPG

These are the three finalists for a contest at Hawthorne's. We're trying The BBQ tonight!!

Haven't had either of the other two, but The Hornet Sting has potential.

They have some solid potential. I am a pretty boring traditional pizza guy, but habe branched out more lately. I'd probably try the Hornet Sting first. Like the sounds of that.

The grill is just about right for some chicken wangs.

Nature's Seasoning for Joanne's half, and Kickin Chicken on mine.
