I know this feeling about once a week

I fixed this problem. I got her drinking old fashioned cocktails. Now the problem is she grabs the better stuff and pours simple syrup in with it.

I just grabbed a Basil Hayden and a Larceny at barrel strength. I've tried the Larceny. It's git a little bite to it. Goes good with a cube.

@Timfoilhat I love my wife but does yours have a sister?

I used to know that feeling… now my wife hunts for me.. I f-d around and asked her to follow a bourbon page and she’s so damned competitive, that she hates seeing people get stuff that is not on our shelf… now every time she passes a duty free, ABC, or private liquor store SHE’s stopping whether I’m with her or not..
pics she’s sent me the last (3) weeks

Bought an Angel's Envy gift box today. I've had the regular bourbon but not the rye. A gentleman and his wife were also browsing the shelves, looking for a bourbon that I'd never heard of. This one:

I think it was around $140. Has anyone tried it?

The Calumet’s I’ve had seem pretty cherry, cinnamon heavy. I am pretty sure it was the 14 and maybe the 10. The 18% rye mash bill seemed to really come through. If you like that rye intensive taste (as opposed to a wheated mash bill) you might like it. Cheers!

Came across one of my wife’s top three favorite beers today by chance at a local Harris Teeter (Bell’s Hopslam).

Only comes out once per year and we randomly scored the last 2 six packs last weekend in SC at Stateline Elite (limit one per person there).

Harris Teeter had no such limiting rules so I bought a beeramid worth of them:

I took Barbara to see her mother over the weekend and stopped by one of the local liquor stores and walked out with these store picks: Leopold Brother Straight Bourbon (100 proof), Penelope Architect (110 Proof), Rebel Cask (120 proof) and a Breckenridge Double Oak (92 proof).

I have heard good things about this release from Bardstown Bourbon, but this is at a lower price point than anything before. It is BIB for 6 years and what got my attention was it is a wheated bourbon.

I might be as lucky as a man can be. About 3 weeks ago I went to my local ABC store for Elijah Craig Small Batch, specifically, and the 1.75L was $6.00 off. After watching a couple of reviews, I went back this week for Knob Creek 9, specifically, and it was also $6.00 off. What are the odds?

This is a longish review. Trenton (the son) has a dislike for Wild Turkey. It's funny to watch at the end which of these bourbons won in a blind test. What do you all think about Wild Turkey Rare Breed? Keep in mind 0.75L WT 101 costs $27.95 and WT Rare Breed costs $54.95. All else being equal (which of course it's not), the Rare Breed costs 70% more for the same buzz, comparing the proofs.

The latest NC prices of the bourbons in this review below are $54.95, $59.95, $64.95 and $59.95.

Saw this at my local ABC store and seeing this brand in the store and it's been on my bucket list of bourbons to buy I had to bring it home. Noah's Mill 114.3 proof It is the only bottle that I've ever seen.So now it's in the cabinet with all of my other bottles.Really could not afford to buy it but damn it's the only one I've ever seen.IMG_20231202_153952920.jpg

That Bakers 7 is the best of all those. And it is 107 proof The 1920 prohibition special is good but it is 115 proof and a little on the hot side. It takes quite a bit of ice to cool the burn

Yeah, the proofs of the above are 116.8, 115, 94 and 107. I find the higher proofs tastier, but need some ice to cool the burn as you said. I'll have to try the Bakers next time, as I can't recall ever having it.

Bakers is hard to find sometimes but when I see it I usually get it.

I got lucky today. One of the stores that I visit usually has a couple bottles for good customers the day before Christmas, so I figured I would go by and see if it held true this year. The worst that could happen is to come home with a bottle of Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve. Well, I did come home with a bottle and

wife wanted 1/4 cup of "some rum" to make a cake
1.75 L of sailor jerry is "some rum" right?
I figured while i was there, i might as well pick up 1.75L of makers mark too, because it was only $10 more than the same amount of jack daniels, and i am almost out of my four roses.
