Why did I lose the alerts to this most awesome thread? I still see that I'm 'watching' it, but don't get alerts anymore.

Somebody needs to fix something afore I have a Friday comeapart.

Well, that would imply he swings both ways. He's kinda stuck in between. So, that's why I said trans. Maybe, he's just caliber confused.

For the record.

WE did not lose any sponsors. They chose to leave for their reasons. We aren't here to make money off the group, community support is what will keep this place rolling. When a sponsor comes aboard it's to be able to advertise their services, it doesn't give them carte blanche to have their way in threads because they don't like the content. Whether it's a link in the hot deals section, or an opinion you don't agree with, being a sponsor or vendor doesn't give you the assurance that everyone will agree with you. Sorry, but that's how free markets work.

This forum simply creates a free market arena, with a targeted audience, that the business can advertise to much more directly. If a new business tries to sell/cell/sail/sale something to the group it's required to have skin in the game to have access to that audience. That skin, doesn't mean you're the only game in town, but it sure makes people that support this site want to help out the businesses that support this site, and therefore the community. Also, if you are a business and you want to advertise, being a sponsor/vendor makes a level playing field and gets you ACCESS to that audience. Your business model and ethics is what will get you return customers, not just your advertising dollars being spent here.

Am I a sales guy for anyone? Nope.

Although, I know for a fact that if I'm buying something I go to our sponsors because they are the ones that I WANT to support and thank them for supporting all of US.

I just clicked on your link and then right clicked on the gif and hit copy. Then I hit paste in the thread and it was there. I'm with you though when it comes to computers...I ask my 6 year old sometimes for guidance :)

Kids and technology are amazing these days. He literally shows me shortcuts on my iPhone. Lets see the little turkey turn on a record player or VHS tape!
 
There's nothing wrong with the direction of this forum. It was created to put us all back on course after the last forum veered onto a path we didn't want to travel.
 
Keep on going down this road. If you want to participate then do so, otherwise next topic. There are many worthwhile threads. Some not so, but I just skip over them.

I give thanks to the "Ignore Button". It can be temporary if you want...

Forum is well, we are all adults and need to remember that in the scheme of things with people as a whole, there is only a tiny amount of difference that separates this group from one another.

Some of the most important people in my deliberately small circle come from the 3 forums that became this one. It is my honor to participate.

I've recently adopted a rule for myself:

When I look at a thread, and I look at the responses, if I comment on there and I will sound like:
a.) an internet tough guy pontificating about something I've never experienced, or can't put my money where my mouth is(see Triangle Shooters thread or GRNC on WRAL thread)
b.) will come off like a horses ass debating about something I'm not an expert on(see unbelievers who will no doubt burn in damnation apologetics thread)

I leave well enough alone. I think a lot of people would do well to follow that example. It makes for a much less stressful forum life, too.

I don't pick on Lawless. Lawless is a good friend...but thaaaaat's not why I don't pick on him. On occasion we get to hang out and I like to fly below his radar. He is like a secret squirrel redneck CIA spook. He doesn't need a waterboard to get incriminating info out of a person. I don't pick on Lawless.
