NC 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Counties - map/updates

Dammit, done it again. Fixed.

View attachment 187565

It’s a lot to keep up with, especially considering how a buncha counties went green overnight.

You’re doing a damned good job with the map and I believe I speak for everyone when I say we really appreciate it.

Thanks!

I’m still trying to find out about Mitchell, Pasquotank, Perquimans and Caswell counties.

Richmond, Iredell and Burke should be voting tonight.

Macon on Thursday.

You can go ahead and just black out (disown) Forsyth, Mecklenburg, Guilford, Durham, Orange, and Wake counties. They'll never be turned from the dark side.

I thought Pender county announced they were 2A sanctuary last year?

Commissioners had discussed last year passing language showing their support of the Second Amendment

PENDER COUNTY -- About a year ago, the Pender County Commissioners considered a resolution to name the county a “gun sanctuary” county.

“This resolution sends a message to our legislators and our folks in Washington that we are not going to stand for any more attacks against our Second Amendment,” said Chairman George Brown last March.

It did not go well.

When the resolution appeared on their meeting agenda, the commissioners received an earful from a room mostly filled with opponents of the measure, and the board responded -- after considerable debate -- with a unanimous decision to table the item for possible reconsideration sometime in the future.

Todd Scott, president of Statesville’s NAACP chapter, said he was in opposition to the resolution because it's not realistic that some government agency could go into people’s homes and take their guns and that there are even more guns than people in the U.S.
“Who’s going to take their guns?” he remarked. “The military? Police?”
He also said he fears increased gun sales arising from people’s anxiety about possible legislative restriction around firearms.

What a joke.

Pasquotank passed it on 2/3
Richmond passed it on 2/4

Yea he was a joke. California, Virginia and New York disprove his theory.

Somebody needs to send him the videos from Blexit Charlotte.

Might have to black out Cumberland as well.

I'm hoping that enough 2A supporters will call out the need for the local officials to get off the pot and take a position. Nothing will be done unless enough people hold them accountable.

given the large combat ready contingent in that area, that would be sad

You read my mind on that one @Rockchucker . One would think enough firearms owners in that area would be screaming at the top of their lungs to see some action......I say that because when the military is called upon that very combat ready contingent is EXPECTED to perform at optimum levels.

That same military contingent should have the same expectations placed squarely upon the shoulders of their local elected officials.

My parents were both raised in Fayetteville and my grandfather and great grandfather were both members of the Fayetteville Light Infantry, a militia commissioned by George Washington. It’s sad to know Cumberland county has gone the way of the two other NC counties I’ve spent 80% of my life in. Wake and Meck.

Nail on head sir. Honestly...…..I could not have predicted earlier that Cumberland County would have remained silent through this activity all around them. I simply would have expected them to have been on the cutting edge of this firearms rights issue early on.

Who is from Cumberland county? Let's get together and make a plan to get Cumberland on the path to 2A. I know it'll be an uphill battle considering demographics and the lack of will the working class has to take off work to make it happen but maybe we can get just enough support to get it done.

^^^ that's it! Start raising hell and ring the phones off the hook and fill the appointment calendars

Unfortunately one person doing this will only look like a lunatic and will only present signs to the anti that more people might get involved. If we can get a large group together all at once and call in a fire for effect right off the bat it'll be mounds more effective. Catch them off guard so to speak.

the combat ready contingent that may live in rented housing and vote absentee back where they come from?
Yeah, it's pretty blue here for some reason.

Scrubber3, you have my attention.

Can you get me specifics like a link, so I can notify NC 2A mappers for adding it?

For you folks in Alamance County...

https://www.wfmynews2.com/article/n...-guns/83-7300b1e3-256c-436f-9fe4-40f3bf9e0ac4

Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson says he believes in the second amendment, but doesn't feel the need to take the same action (referencing what happened in Randolph County).

"We have a constitution we need to follow it whatever it is," said Sheriff Johnson, "I am going to abide by the constitution and enforce those laws that are written by our legislators and people that make those laws because I took an oath of office to enforce those laws and I will do so."

If possible, yall need to vote that MFer outta office.

And when those two are in conflict?

Another "I support the second, but ... " moron.

Exactly...

Can't do both.

You either keep your oath to the people or you remain a loyalist to Raleigh...that's it.

Agree... you'll need to rally the troops.

It was really good to go to the JoCo Commissioners meeting, even though they had announced in advance they'd support such an effort, and see 200 people waiting to get in a room that holds 50 tops.

There was a JoCo Sanctuary web page, etc all leading up to the vote.

Start up a thread and lets see what we can do. As bad as I hate to admit it (and I refuse to use it) but I wonder if a facebook page would be a faster approach to gather shear numbers for support.

An uphill battle is an understatement, especially with the current CLEOS we have in place but like I said earlier, were becoming an island in a sea of green on that map.

I dont use Facebook whatsoever. Maybe you could pop that off? I'll start a thread as soon as I get a chance. I've got 4 kids at home currently

Edit: thread started

Terry Johnson is a scumbag. Investigated by both NC & TN in his SBI days for evidence tampering & based on his hitting his daughter & busting her eardrum, by law, he shouldn't even be allowed to possess a firearm. For all the talk about the 'thin blue line', when I went to BLET in '09, every instructor we had talked cash shit about him.

Bad thing is, he'd have to be caught on film throwing babies offa bridges before they'd vote out an incumbent.

What seems to be the going trend in getting signatures is to use change.org. I have seen many other petitions regarding the 2A issue there and they are generating 1K plus signatures. I'm sure you would get a lot more support than just those who are members here. Just a suggestion.
