Dangit, I hain't got the hooloos........
Do you have FX? Pretty sure it’s airing there as well. That’s how I’ll probably watch it.

Looks good. The original story is a great read. Looks like they’ve adapted it well to the Raylan-verse.

I cut the cord years ago , and have Netflix and Prime - anyway to watch or stream the original ?

Or buy the series through iTunes or Amazon. It’ll be worth it. We cut the cord during season 2 of Justified. Bought all of them on iTunes.

Are they doing a marathon of the previous seasons?
Haven’t seen that advertisement. Although I don’t have FX.

City Primeval is supposed to stand alone. I read the book about a year ago and it was fantastic. I can tell from the trailers that they’ve made some artistic license changes to the characters—not the least of which being the interjection of Raylan and his daughter. But the trailers otherwise match my mind’s eye movie of when I read the book.

Watched this last.night and while it's good to see raylan givens back on the small screen It seems to me to be lacking something
Perhaps the repartee between Boyd and raylan.
Or the familiar cast of characters such as Tim or dewy
It reminds me of the first season of justified were it was good enough to keep you watching but in season 2 with the Mags Bennett storyline it hit a whole new level.
Since its a limited series maybe this is as good as it gets but I'll still keep watching

I got through one and a half episodes tonight. Music hasn’t been nearly as good (so far only a brief nod to Gangstagrass and no “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive”) but still enjoying it / looking forward to the rest.

Not digging his daughter's acting skills so far. The plot line is doing just as described: following the book with Raylan intertwined--which is good.

First episode thumbs down so far as Raylan is concerned. They did a good job of making me hate the villan however. Prolly watch E2 tonight.

I didn't see anything like that. I'm watching through iTunes.
I didn't think it was filmed that way. It was kind of like watching max headroom in a few scenes.

It started to feel a little more like Justified towards the end of the second episode. I just don't believe the whole oh she's making eyes at you with the defense attorney. Raylan had both Ava and Naomi I'm just not believing the defense attorney. Maybe just poor casting.

Yeah that casting was a equal opportunity thing. Carolyn Wilder is white and attractive in the book. I guess someone could say “well this isn’t the book.”

I do t care so much about the race (although I despise people trying to change thing for the sake of changing), but they could of at least tried to get a better looking woman.

I mean I can understand casting her as a black female. But dang could she not have been more attractive. The entire show was riddled with wokeness. Bad white Detroit cops, bad black judge I mean stay with what got you there a little more. It was interesting to see his real daughter in the role on tv.

Except for the courtroom scene (which was needed to intertwine Raylan into the story), the judge was 100% per the book. Wildly outspoken and pissed everyone off. That was the mystery of why he was killed. It took them a while to unravel the totally random connection between him and the Oklahoma Wildman.

Watching it was painful. I've not watched anything with commercials in a couple of years. I'm not certain if I'll watch the remaining episodes for that reason. 20+ minutes for each hour is just too much.

As much as I am looking forward to the new "Justified", it may be a hard watch as we are currently binge watching "Suits" with no commercials.

This is episode one stuff! Fair game!

You can’t come into a show’s thread after the season has begun and not expect some of the story to come out!!!

We are watching Suits now, too. Commercials are for poor people.

My wife goes "that guy was in Narcos" and she hardly watched any of that. Boyd Holbrook, the villan here. I can't believe I didnt immediately recognize him. Got to keep my eye on my wife. Going ga ga over the blond, bad boy flat belly bastard.

I’ve watched the first 2 episodes. It’s very well done and I hope it runs as long as the original justified.

My only bitch is the same one I have with most tv and movies these days.

All the white bad guys are white supremacists or such huge white trash rednecks they can be laughed at.

I mean seriously, who straps a deer to the trunk of their car, 30 miles outside of Detroit in what is clearly the summer so out of season.

Do you remember in the original series when they had a road block in “Kentucky” that was clearly filmed in CA? Maybe there are some details they just don’t get…

As @S4f mentioned it seems to be missing something so far. Of course we are only 2 episodes in. Haven’t seen much of Raylan from Harlan but he is in Detroit so…

I made the comment to my father about how the bad guy was white and in Detroit.

His response was, "Anyone white and left in Detroit is probably bad."

He's a Political/Economic refugee from Michigan.
