1994….What a time to be alive

That tanker gun made me think of a gun case I saw this weekend. Thing had to be 60-70 years old and way shorter than any rifle I've ever seen that would be in a case that nice. All leather with an opening at the butt end of the rifle and a suitcase type handle.

Ahhh … 1994 … the 1994 Crime Bill (also referred to as Biden Crime Laws since he drafted the Senate version) from Slick Willy and crew. Along with the ‘94 AWB part the Dims also funded adding LEO’s, increased Federal Death Penalty statutes, cut educational (college credit type) benefits for inmates in prison, violent offender flagging along with a Crimes Against Children act (guess Biden didn’t want competition) … my how times have flip flopped and changed with Dims.

I was 8……
I get that. I was 5. That's the rough thing about being into guns but still young today is missing out on these awesome deals the older folks got, simply due to not being old enough to buy guns at the time, and too broke to afford them anyway.

Y'all want to go ride bikes and pound a 2 liter of Cheerwine in the woods with me?
Make it those really awesome Barq's Root Beer Floats in a bottle and I'm 100% down with that. Or Surge. I miss both.

An anaconda for 410 bucks... Damn. I was a senior in HS then. Bought my first gun with my own money back then, a Mossberg 12ga to use skeet shooting. Wish I had been more into guns back then. Girls and motorcycles were all I cared about!

And dang, I thought I was "young" around here. All you dang whipper snappers better get off my lawn!

I wish he’d find a ‘95 version to see the jump thanks to the ‘94 AWB/Gun Control Bill. I remember G17 and such “hi-cap” mags jumping to $100 plus along with other crazy stuff. Mil-surp didn’t really jump but other stuff did.

Remodeling our kitchen and when we tore down a wall we found a newspaper from late 70s. First thing i noticed was a page advertising cars. Most expensive car on the page was a gmc jimmy for $9,999 brand new.

Pft, you're a baby. You can have my brother's Vault he left in Mom's car.

Depending on when that was printed, I was still in the womb.

Y’all feel old yet?

You've never tasted a real Oreo or been inside a Sky City. Feel left out yet?

I couldn't rub two nickels together in 1994, so...
In 1994, I was 12 years old. The only two things I had to rub together were my right hand and my weiner... That took up all my free time. I wouldn't have had time to think about guns back then...

Oh boy! :D Vault was good. I wish it had caught on and stuck around. It tasted better than Mountain Dew to me, as far as citrus sodas go.

You mean Hydrox? :D

I graduated HS that year.
In The Glorious Socialist Peoples Republic of Marylandistan.
Around that time and for a few additional yers, until about 98 or so, there was a store called Eastwood Guns & Ammo. They were the only Class III store. I didn't know what that meant. He had an MP5 for $6000, and an MP5SD for $7000....
Real ones, with the S/1/3/FA trigger packs...

Does anyone have a time machine?

Yes it was. I was 21 that year! Bars on Hillsborough Street had $ one dollar drink nights.

92-93, SKS's were around $80 ish I think and Roses sold them.
A few friends and I would leave the gun show in Raleigh with wooden crates full of ammo and blast most of it that afternoon and next day.

*Edit - just texted a one of the guys that was with us back them. He paid $250 for his Norinco Mac-90. Still has it. The SKS we shot was bought at a pawn shop in Durham for $85. Man, those days were fun.

I was coming off the worst year ever to date in my business. I did have a precious baby boy then, so I tend to forget the rest of the “bad news”.
