Cigar of the day

Fuente Seleccion Privada #1 Natural

Not my favorite among the other Gran Reservas. But it’ll do.

Got an email from Thompson. 25% off sitewide. Put a box of my favorite cigar in the cart, Perdomo Champagne. Lo and behold, it was not part of the 25% off. Apparently sitewide is a lie!!!😒 I decided to call anyway. I told the lady that I received an email that’s stated sitewide and sitewide means everything. I said if there are exclusions then that is false advertisement. 🤔 I held my ground. She put me on hold and came back and gave me the 25% of with free 2 day shipping 😎

Filthy Hooligan Alec Bradley barber pole.

for a nearly $13 stick. I won't be buying another. The construction on mine was much worse than the one my wife had.

It kept trying to go out on me, the burn was a little ragged, i got nothing out of the barber pole, i wasnt able to pick up much for flavor notes but it did stay pretty consistant.

The last third smoked better. Very little pepper on the back end.

All and all, not terrible at the $8 mark but not a $13 stick. I still enjoyed sitting on the back porch hanging out with my wife talking about the Louisville vs state game last night.

I just got an email today from Thompson with their Nubs on sale. I’ve never tried one. What’s the draw to the nub? I suppose you get the flavors faster?
I like them because they are full of flavor and if you do not have a long time to smoke a cigar, these are about 3.5" long but a good ring size.

Tried a Camacho with a Connecticut wrapper. I’ll have to say that this will be a regular. It was nice and burned even.

I just bought 10 of them without trying them. Your post is good news for me.
I have started going to Total Wine to get individual cigars that I want to try. I usually try to buy 2.

I need to go through my humidor and get rid of the ones I don’t like.

Trying a new one. First couple of draws was very mild and a very easy draw. They earned a place in the humidor

I smoke the Sun Grown as a daily. Construction is questionable on the Factory smokes. I'm always touching up, sometimes they will burn internally and pop up an inch or so down the cigar. But they are cheap and aren't terrible.

That was the first one that I had and only had to light it one time.
Is Sun Grown the same as Factory Smokes?

Sun grown is the kind of wrapper. Like Connecticut, Maduro, etc. Factory smokes is the cheaper cigars made by Drew estates.

Just got back from JR's in Selma. Picked up a box of Romeo and Julieta 1875 Exhibition #3, They threw in 5-5 packs. 2- R&J Nicuraguan 1875's and 3-H. Upman Cameroons. Basicly a small discount on the box and threw in another box. Works out to about $4 a stick.

I just watched my alma mater win a very ugly, nerve wracking football game.
Im currently on the front porch with a Perdomo Lot 23 Sungrown and a pour of Noah's Mill bourbon.
Slowly getting myself back together lol

Everyone left me to go to bed so I’m sitting by the fire all alone with a Perdomo Champagne

For the folks local to Fayetteville on the 19th at Anesteads Cigar Shop will be hosting HOOTEN &YOUNG CIGARS and WHISKEY

fyi the HOOTEN guy was in the BLACK HAWK DOWN ( in the movie he was played by ERIC BANA)

So the guy that Eric played was the actual guy in black hawk down. Got confused there for a sec

I screwed up tonight. Had a cigar by the fire and put it in the edge of the fire pit to get some more fire wood for the fire and after putting the wood into the pit. I sat back down and rested my feet on the fire pit ledge right on top of the cigar. Crushed it and had to throw it into the fire. It was unsmokable.

So normally Wife & I only have 1 stick per weekend. So the lil lady, and went to our local watering hole on Sunday (DIRTBAG ALES). And after buying more PLANTS. She offered and paid for cigars and a Conviction Old Fashion/ Macanudo Cigar for me, her Spiced Moscow Mule and some cherry flavored stick.

I really enjoyed this one, Mild with a nice easy draw, though it did go out frequently, and had a very pronounced uneven burn

Flor De Las Antillas. From the Garcia family, produced in the my father factory.

Box pressed, near perfect construction. Probably a 1.5" ash

I am either starting to develop my pallet or this is the most complex cigar I have smoked to date.

It started out with some mild red pepper, on the retrohale I got some cedar with a citris note. Half way through, some nutty with the citris still present.
