Had a makers mark cigar this weekend/ not impressed

I had a bunch of cigar stuff on my Christmas list to my family. I didn't receive a single thing on my list. At Christmas brunch today, I stepped out and lit up a nub habano (I think) both BILs and a nephew stepped out and we ended up smoking cigars and one BIL said we need some good bourbon to go with this, and it was excellent.
We made a pact that the next time we get together, I bring the cigars and my BIL brings the bourbon. I gave him an Aurturo to smoke and left him with a Perdormo lot 23 to enjoy ion his own.
Ill probably buy a box of something for our next encounter. It all caught me by surprise. I had no idea they enjoyed cigars from time to time.

Not a bad stick, I'm having trouble with a Knott at the head, I have to keep needing it to get any draw. A little disappointing.pairing it with some "Down The Rabbit Hole"

QUESTION: what flavor of dark beverage do you prefer with a cigar:
Bourbon (Single barrel or blend)
Rye
Scotch
Rum
Mine is usually rum in the hot months and bourbon (SB) in the cool to cold months. Really have not tried a rye with a cigar. The spice might work well with one.
