Update: I "calibrated" my scale using a plastic 1-liter measuring cup. 1 liter weights 1 kg, by definition, which is 35.204 oz on a 70 degree day. The cup weighed in at 4.5 oz. My gun, without the magwell, came in consistently at 41 oz, plus a little. I did the same on a friend's kitchen scale set to grams, and I got 1179 gr, which is 41.6 oz. It looks like I'm good to go unless the match scale is way off (weigh off? <snicker>).
By the way, with the magwell the weight came in at 42.5 oz on the fish scale, which uses 1/2 oz increments. I think that would cut it too close. The magwell actually makes reloads more difficult with this gun because the bottom of the mag plates are even with the bottom of the magwell, and the mags don't always seat. The double stack mags are easy enough to get into the well without the magwell attached anyway.
Thanks for all the support.
