I don't care about what or how you pack when you jog or do crossfit, so just go ahead and take that discussion to the Grindr concealed carry forum.

I want to hear how you folks that climb fences, belly crawl under holly bushes, slide down 20 ft dirt mounds, trip over silt fences, roll down hills, and sweat like whores in church carry.

For years I've carried the same way, and a lot of you tactical experts will hate it - a pistol in my right rear pocket. It's what I'm used to, but it offers some various tactical disadvantages in that it eventually wears a hole in my pocket, threads/fabric gets worn enough that it snags and I bauble my draw (as seen at Battery Oaks on The Wizard), and going over chainlink fences it will actually pop out if I'm not careful.

I've tried IWB with a 642 with those bare minimum built-in clip grips for Mexi carry, and I really, really hate the exposed trigger for physical activity wherein I'm constantly retrieving junk from my pockets. IWB leather gets nasty AF after the swampass-a-thon that is my typical summer workday. And kydex IWB for those of us with gut is like Kylie Minogue and The Mountain: I can feel it inside of me.

I prefer OWB, but short of wearing a shirt down to my knees, it ends up behind the damn pistol within two swings of a hammer, right when the Shannon Watts intrusive joggers for nosy mothers group runs by, and I would really rather avoid having to pour on the charm all day to quell the fears of Karens that aren't getting enough attention at home.

Don't even get me started about where to set the damn thing in the Port a John...

So, how do you folks that are doing the ugly work carry?

Smith 442 in a pocket holster or my P01 owb in chiefjason leather.
When the Watts parade jogs by, gasps and cackles at your gun, give em a wink and an air smooch. Really puts them at ease.

I signed a court order to stop doing that.

Really though, the Watts parade are clients, so I would prefer to just keep everybody happy with just my Southern drawl and pearly whites, and the sidearm unknown.

I get that.
442 in a pocket. Better than nuttin and might be enough to get you to the truck.
Whether you grab keys or a bigger gun there is up to you.

Pretty much where I am now. Pistol just ended up in my right rear pocket because that was the only unoccupied space.

Maybe just switch to overalls exclusively and put the Mustang in the bib pocket.

When I decided that was how I was going to carry, I had to do a major minimalizing and reorganization of pocket stuffs.
Im not sure what all you need to carry tool wise, but my occupation allows for carrying a small toolbag or a tool belt, so I was able to reorg pretty easily.

Front right pocket with a S&W 642 in a nemeses holster. I have to rearange stuff like where I carry a daily carry folder, keys, cell phone etc... but I make it work. It stays where is supposed to and it is still accessible via as semi slow draw.

I think you're right where you need to be. When I have to get out from behind the desk and I can't wear a decent cover, a mouse gun in the right rear pocket is the best choice. And I do need to get out from behind that desk more. My man-boobs have progressed to the point where I might try out a flashbang.

I'd rock a Mansseire styled concealed carry support undergarment.

For better or worse, Iv always carried a Full sz. pistol (S&W4506-1911-92fs-P14) they wear holes in suits also.
I have carried a lot of different ways over the years at work. Front in belt, back in belt, inside coat pocket occasionally but generally I used the Bianchi Mdl. 135 in my lower back or side - inside pant.

However, my most admired carry fashion has always been Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez with the Colt on leather strap around the neck.

I live on a farm with a sawmill operation and am constantly around, under, or on top of equipment, lumber stacks, you name it. I used to pocket carry but decided I wanted more capacity.

Tried a Crossbreed Super Tuck IWB but it would not retain the pistol when I was climbing under equipment. So I changed over to a Nate squared (N82) Professional holster with the retention feature and haven't looked back.

It's extremely comfortable and I have no problems with pistol retention - or drawing relatively quickly. Daily carry is a Walther PPQ.

I wear cargo pants, an' keep all my possibles in the cargo pockets, leavin' the normal front pockets free for arms. Gun on strong side, spare mag on t'other side. I don' use the back pockets.

I'm going to be the oddball here but I don't carry on the work site. Since I'm a carpenter, I have quite a few tools nearby that could be mistaken for modern renditions of medieval "tools of war" designed for removing limbs, bloodletting, and penetrating the tin suits of the nobility. Nail gun- check. Sharp chisels, check. Straight claw hammer, check. For some reason I always have a battery powered Sawzall with long demo blade handy. And one of my favs, there's also a two foot steel crow bar named Lucille around also for those pesky bits that refuse to conform to my designs. I've had to deploy that one in a manner to which it wasn't designed on one occasion. Big dude was making rude comments and seriously thinking about jumping me. At the time all he could see was me dialing my cell phone. His further rude comment were about who I was calling. I just turned where he could see Lucille and told him it was for an ambulance for him cuz I was going to start on his knees to drop him down where I could get at the rest of him. That ended the encounter right then and there. Like I've said in other posts, not all problems require a firearm if you keep your headspace engaged.

But some people just need shootin’.

I am old and fat so I work smarter rather than harder. But when I am doing hot sweaty stuff I carry GP100 in an OWB holster. I always wear a tank top under what ever x-long shirt I have on so my butt crack and gun are covered. I don't have much problem with the outer shirt getting caught over the gun unless I have slid on my back under something. I carry the GP100 because I noticed rust on the Glock slide after 1 day of liquid fat boy juice dripping on it. Must be all the salt.

I have a fear of being stabbed by a chisel.

I'm thinking about one of these.

Yup, but just as physical work has a satisfaction factor, so does going medieval once and a while. I got a kick out of what my helper once said, "don't screw around with old people, they'll just shoot you".

While this isn't me, I do have one and know how to use it and yes, it's razor sharp. It's called a slick and is used in timber framing and, yup, I can timber frame.

i’m in the j-frame/LCR right front pocket club when i’m crawling under jeeps etc.

i find that all IWB/OWB get in the way or i sit or lay on them

i belly band or chest rig like @SPST uses might work

maybe this is the occasion for an ankle holster and shorts

I work under-roof, but it's not climate-controlled; unless I'm in the office doing paperwork. I'm constantly climbing, ducking under, or squeezing between pieces of equipment to adjust or fix something.

I carried a LCR in my right cargo pocket for a long time, but it was annoying, and I need my pocketses for tools 'n sech. I tried IWB with several different pistols, but the holster would instigate a psoriasis patch where it was riding.

I've settled on either a Glock 43 w/extended mag or 43x with Shield mag in a @chiefjason black pancake under my shirt tail. The difference between those two guns is greater that you would expect when carrying at 3-4 o'clock. In my situation, the 43x sometimes gets in the way, while the 43 disappears.

Several “older” subs who work alone or with a helper that I know, use the ”phone holster” lookalike style. Secure retention and come and go into customers houses without issue. The customers who can figure out it’s not a phone case are the same ones who don’t care.

Im like dave951. I don’t typically carry at work. Any on body carry, hangs up and creates issues/annoyances with my nail bag. But that nailbag provides a plethora of melee weapons should the need arise. Not to mention the variety on cordless bladed tools close at hand.

On a rare occasion I have gone to my truck to “get a water” and slipped a pistol into my bag when situations were getting um, tense.

Our HVAC guy was carrying in one, looked 100% normal seeing him with some random 'pouch' on his belt considering the nature of all the various tools and widgets he was carrying anyway.

You find something like this that suits your needs and I'll get the company to buy it for you:

We'll get two birds stoned at once.

bet you could hide a pistol in here somewhere:

Might look into that. Thought about carrying in the vest before, but my addled brain can't deal with that many pockets. I'll end up pulling a roll of flagging or box of Mag nails on somebody, or pulling out a pistol to paint a nail in the road.

Have you every considered something like this?

I carried in one of them for the first 6-7 years I had a permit. I still have it here but rarely use it. You’re welcome to give it a a shot if you’re interested.

Admittedly it’s not the quickest draw, but at least you’d have one on you.

I also have one of these I used right when I got my permit: https://www.smartcarry.com/

Let me know if you want to try either of them.

Benchmade knife in back right pocket
Keys in my backpack that I tote around with me
Wallet, mints in left pocket
Glock 43 in my front right pants pocket. When I’m not on my city job of course 🙄

Glock 43 or 48 IWB at 3-4 o clock in a kydex holster. Started out pocket carrying a Kahr .380 but like the bigger guns better. I’m on and off skid steers and tractors during the day and in and out of relatively thick stuff. Not like surveying usually but thick enough. I wear loose button down shirts most days but can get away with a t shirt in the summer especially with the 43 or something similar in size.

Do you drop your knife in the pocket or use a pocket clip?

Offer much appreciated. I've tried similar systems, but never could get the feel for them.
