Cool/Interesting cars

I think he said 1985 Australian model

Remember the blueish LR I posted earlier, overland style? I think it's the same guy. Fifteen minutes after talking with this guy I saw it parked in the SAME spot downtown....which is just a grassy area beside a warehouse. With no other cars/parking there. So, yeah, Im guessing same dude.

Truck versions of Rovers and Cruisers are the pinnacle of cool vehicles for me. Thinking about it I like the 2 door p/u H1s too.

Saw a very clean Defender 90 during a test drive on S Main last week, driving anything with less axles or work logos I would have stopped to check it out.

I don’t know who owns it, it’s basically sat in this spot for the past 3-4 years, I have. Coworker that collects older Toyota Land Cruisers that tried to find the owner last year with no luck, he fell in love with this thing like I did lol
What did he try doing? Is this in a business park? Hell, leave a note on all the doors near it (assuming that the owner parked the car behind their business). Leave a note ON the car.
That thing is awesome and needs saving.

My company services and inspects the 4-5 fire alarm systems in an old Cotten mill that’s been converted to condos south of Mebane on Sissiphaw NC, we’ve left business cards under the wipers, spoken with the owners of the buildings and I’ve personally been in the ear of every manager that’s handled the operations for the past 3-4 years, basically I’ve been told the owner is always traveling (they won’t tell me who owns it because apparently a number of people have asked about buying it) and he has no plans to sell it and won’t even discuss the topic with anyone.

There is a new manager there and I put the bug in his ear that letting this thing sit and rot (it’s FAR for rotting though, it is ridiculously clean inside and out) so I’m hoping that the new guy will spill the beans, I personally am not in a position to make a cash offer on it, but I want to see the damn thing used like it was intended to be used so if I get any info I’ll definitely share it here, but my coworker will probably snatch it up the second it ever becomes attainable.

I left notes on an old landcruiser for 5 years that was sitting on the side of a barn outside Sumpter SC. Finally got a call but was up in Raleigh at the time. Left immediately and picked it up that night. Wish I never sold it but got an offer I couldn't refuse. It was a great condition FJ55 that had been sitting for years. Paid $1500 for it and put around $1500 in it getting it back on the road. Lots of work cleaning it up. Guy offered me $18,000 in the Home Depot parking lot the weekend after I got it on the road. This was 15 years ago and I had 4 year old twins and a 1 year old at home. I could not turn the offer down. Ended up, he grew up with the same vehicle and it was totaled when he was young.

There was a 58 Chevy Apache on Marketplace for several weeks a while back for $6500. I wanted to scoop it up and swap in a 6.0/6L80 drivetrain.

My cars. The ‘69 Mustang coupe was my first car and after I wrecked it I took it down to freshen things up and it spiraled into a 22+ year restomod project. Scope creep…it’s a thing. 😫

The ‘54 Chevy was my granddad’s car. His son, my uncle, paid to refresh the drivetrain and have all the rust cut out and put into paint and then the shop closed suddenly. Uncle T stored it for a decade and gave it to me with his blessing to build it. I’d love to get the Mustang dialed in and in plastidip and then sell it to fund the BlueGoose build. I’d love to slap an AME frame under it, LS drivetrain and then drive it.

This belongs to my Boss-man’s uncle. Original Supercharged ‘68. He had just bought it (sold off two other high dollar classic Mustangs to get it) and wanted to have me check it over and make sure everything was in ship shape. An absolute blast to drive! Not nearly the power I had expected, but definitely not a slow car either.

Cheers

This is my “from scratch” rock crawler, Peggy. Started life as a 1983 Toyota Pickup. I got it, bone stock. Drug it out of the woods where it had sat for around 20 years. Threw a propane conversion at it and fired it up like it had never missed a day! And then it got cut in half because it was so rusty, and we started from ground zero!

Cheers

I’d love to find one of those cheap. They also made them in 4wd which would be preferable.
lol, omg I remember my father bringing home a Toyota Tercel SR5 4WD in the early 80's. We lived in UT at the time and that little sucker could go through some snow! As kids we were in awe of the clinometers and would watch them to see if we were about to tip over! :p

Oldest son just bought a 2023 GR Supra A91-MT in CU Later Gray. I'll get some pics when he's home on Thursday.

He has always liked nice cars, but he didn't start off that way. He had a 1994 Toyota pickup up in high school and college. When he graduated he bought an Audi S5, then had a Jaguar F type, then some kind of Genesis sedan and now the Supra. He also had his grandfather's 1996 Grand Sport Corvette that he bought from his grandmother after his grandfather passed.

His new ride.

I've had some nice cars in my lifetime. Starting with '68 and '69 Camaro and lately with Corvettes. The rarest one was a 2012 Centenial Edition GS Convertible , manual trans, with Callaway SC606 package one of seven made. Below.

The one I have now is a Ron Fellows Edition Z06. It is car number 222 of 399 produced. Below.

Howdy neighbor!
I'm over in the Riceville Valley.
Judging by that Yota I'm thinking you might know Randy Hensley from the valley? He's into that kinda stuph.
