Been off chasing cowboy guns for a few years & feeling the need for another stamp.
First of all, this'll be my first post-41A stamp. Can someone point me toward a how-to? Or talk me through it? I've got a trust set up already & have my .22lr can & .300blk SBR in it, but don't know what's what with the new requirements.
I'm really digging what I'm reading about the Energetic Armament Vox-K. And the price, I mean, let's be totally transparent here. The Dead Air Armament Sandman K also looks very appealing. Any reason to choose one or the other? Do we have a vendor/sponsor who carries the Vox-K? I know @TARHEELSTATE carries the Dead Air stuff, so that's good.
The can will be dedicated to my SBR AR. It's currently wearing a 10.5" barrel, but I will be going to a 7.5" or 8" barrel to keep the OAL as short as possible. My intent is for this gun is primarily subsonic use, I've got other ARs to play the velocity game with & want to enjoy the .300blk as it was designed. I know I'll want 1:7 for the heavies, but what's the minimum reliable barrel length? I've seen 7.5"ers for sale, but I see Seekins has a nice 8"er with 1:7 5R rifling. With the Vox-K, an 8"er would give me an effective barrel length of 12.9".
Any pros/cons/tips on the barrel length? Going direct thread, as it's not coming off & will be tucked up into that fat 9.5" Seekins MCSR handguard. Tips on a foregrip?
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
