Raleigh, January 16th-17th. Who's going?

Ummm...where?

Wonder if King Roy will try to squelch it with this week’s new decree? He and his minion Cohen are talking about rate of positive tests being 15%+ ... hospitalizations approaching 4000 people ... the mutation being far more dangerous. I swear he’s setting things up to shutdown things tighter than before.

This one's a bit far for me. Especially, in the current climate. One day hope to work this one into a trip to see family as well, when things are a little more wide open and Covid is in the rear view mirror. I hear it's a good show.

I would go if needed to work the CFF table, but not otherwise.

Nope. Not because of anything that tyrant and his little Yankee doctor says. But too many people close to me have gotten it, and some were really sick or hospitalized. Paper said the ICUs at WakeMed and Rex each were down to one open bed each. I’ll wait until we’ve all had our shots.

Almost always go to this show , it's close and lots of vendors. But I don't think there will be any deals available and expect it will be crowded with leftover panic buyers. Probably stay home and load up some bluettes. Getting brass from @Toprudder this week. Will miss seeing @Button Pusher & @cubrock .

I think the Greenville S&D show is this coming weekend. The 9th and 10th.

Havent been in years and hope I never have to ever again. Worked shows all over for 15 yrs. Put me off gun shows forever. If waiting in line and smelling other folks armpits is your thing, then have fun!
What always irritated me most when I was working Gun Shows was hearing those dang tasers every 5 min.

Probably panic pricing but I’m planning on going. I‘ve got a list of a few things I’m hunting for and if the prices aren’t reasonable, I’m not buying.

Anyone going from the High Point-Greensboro-Winston area? I am planning on going, but only to pick up some ammo and pay a member for it.

Has inventory been good at these shows lately? Or is it sparse? Wife wants to hold a walther ccp m2 and see if she likes it. LGS doesn't have any

It is touch and go. There will be a lot of guns there, but exactly what will be in stock is anybody's guess. Depends mostly on what shipped in to the dealers the week of the show. Inventory turnaround is insanely short right now.

My sister in law went to the gun show in Rocky Mount and paid $370 for a Kel Tec P17 22 pistol. MSRP is around $200. They’re hard to find, but I would wait a bit before I paid almost double MSRP.

I've never been to the show in Raleigh didn't know if it was large enough for a substantial inventory. One of those things where I wouldn't buy anything just poke around and look.

During normal times, it is the biggest show in the state. Usually a goodly number of gun dealers, though some of the regulars haven't been doing shows since they can sell every gun they get in their shops, now.

It’s a big show, and I seldom leave empty handed. At the last Dixie show I left with a very nice Lee Enfield I picked up from @cubrock .

Just to be clear, there are two shows in Raleigh - the C&E, and the Dixie. The latter is the larger show, by far. I did go to the last C&E show just before Christmas, and I did not think it was too bad. I don't know if it was because of COVID, but I did not notice as many beef jerky, BBQ sauce, and jewelry tables as in the past. Plenty of guns to look at. Hardly any reloading supplies, though. Since the Dixie show this weekend is the larger show, it will be interesting to see how much is there.

Yep, And also now the Greensboro show is gone, which was not a"larger" show, but maybe added a different set of dealers and independents that usually didn't come further East to the Raleigh show. IMO the two best shows in the state and now one is defunct and may never return.

And to those worried about pricing - you're going to have to decide whether what you want is really a necessity or a luxury. A luxury you can shop and wait till a bargain turns up or decide not to buy at all. A necessity is going to require action sooner rather than later, and at market pricing based on demand and supply at the time.

@Squanchy ,Guys like @cubrock are pretty open here about their positions- of course in business to make some money- but reasonable in terms of markups and acknowledging the marketplace.

I may give it a shot.
