I work critical care transport for a hospital. We have transported over 1,000 covid patients. I have seen covid patients with no medical problems go on ventilators and covid patients with hypertension and diabetes up walking to the stretcher. One of our paramedics and one nurse have gotten it. The nurse was kept in the hospital for about two weeks. I transported a 26 year old weight-lifter with covid getting ready to go on vent with no prior medical problems. Its the worst stuff I've seen. We are well protected wearing caprs and they have outfitted three of our ambulances to negative pressure units to help protect us. WE transporr patients within 150 miles of where I work.

Stay safe, sir!

Up to about 15 people that I know that have had it. 6 of them in my extended family. 3 of them work together, plus 2 spouses, and a daughter. The oldest one took 2 trips to the hospital over a couple weeks. The rest had mild to no symptoms. One only lost his ability to taste for about a day. Couple guys at the club are quarantined awaiting tests with immediate family having positive tests. One guy from one of out facilities was hospitalized for over a week.

Extend that out and I think there are 3 deaths associated with those clusters. All older males in the respective families. None of those I know personally.

I tested positive at the beginning of August. I ended up at Northeast ER a week later with double pneumonia. I had an oxygen machine at home and daily paramedic visits. I'm still low on energy but that's slowly returning.

Dang. Too weak to text?

A guy I know in Tampa, early 40s, has had a severe case. Going on for the third month, and just starting a recovery. Total loss of energy from the start. Then trips to the ER when he had heart palpitations. He thought he would be susceptible to covid, as he had mono three times at an early age and several cases of the flu. In my extended family, only my niece, who was asymptomatic.

So, there will be no vaccine and even if there were, with very near 100% recovery rate, there really is no rush to put out something that might be worse than the disease. We will all be exposed at some point so my question is why we are wearing masks? Sweden is done with this already.

Coworker tested positive Tuesday
I emailed yesterday, said weak, bad cough, otherwise ok
He had a high temp when he got scanned in, so they sent him home and to get tested.

Jesus, was wondering why I ain't seen you here lately. Hang in there and let me know if you need any help shoveling poop out of the bed.

Have lost around a dozen people in my inner and outer circle. Its a real beast! A couple more dozen have contracted it and beaten it but it took a serious toll on their physical health. Most all of them are still dealing with seruous issues caused by it. One friend is scheduled for surgery due to an aneurysm on her heart caused by thr virus. While she's recovering it still causes her BP to spike to ridiculously high levels....200/155! Protect yourselves and do take it seriously.

Probably me.
Get a 2nd test done at a different facility. Not knocking the hospital, but I've had several co workers that tested positive and 2nd test was negative. Every single one had a tie breaker at a third location and was negative as well. There are a lot of false positives out there. And you can bet she is now a statistic. Even if found negative, they won't change the numbers!!!
Sorry to hear about it all. I'm not far away if you need anything. Be glad to drive by and throw it in the yard!! Seriously, if you need it, I'll make it happen if at all possible.

I have known at least four people who have gotten China Flu. None of which needed a hospital.

Hickory reported a bunch of staff and patients contracted China Flu this week at Frye Regional Medical Hospital. Damn near everyone who goes there catches something from others. Their air condition and heating system is horrible and dumps air from room to room and the hallways. They reportedly have a very high rate of contracting mersa and other infections. I wouldn’t put my pet in that place and expect it to come out better.

Just found out yesterday that my coworker in Philly has it. So far he says that his only symptom is loss of taste.

She had the test at two different facilities. One test at one and two tests at the other (occupational health where she works as a nurse). All the tests were positive.

As far as the statistic part, she was contacted by DHEC yesterday.

Eddie, hope you and all of yours come thru this, take care.

We have had about 15 folks test positive for it so far in our circle of family, friends and businesses. Including an entire family of 4 and an 80+ year old couple. Fortunately everyone came through just fine. Experiences ranged from a bad head cold-like symptoms to serious flu/pneumonia like experience for the older couple. They were briefly admitted, but were back out in a couple days. No one had any pre-exising health conditions that would have made them more susceptible, other than the one couple being old. ;)

So much for my suggestion. Sorry to hear it’s for sure. Offer still good if you need anything. Just a phone call away

I had no idea. Hopefully you will have no long term effects. Take care of your health first before trotting back out to work.

Well, the good news is I tested negative today. The bad news is I get to go back to work tomorrow.
when you show up for work tomorrow, tell HR that you couldn't avoid it and slept in the same bed with your wife ;)

Man, that is tough. Hopefully you are on the mend.

We’ll miss you Friday. :p

I will tell you this.....if you get it and have a bad reaction to it you'll want to just die and get it over with.

Our first confirmed case at our plant said pretty much the same thing. It absolutely knocked him down.

Friend of mine got it and it bout killed her.....the one with the aneurysm on her heart. She said outside of struggling to breathe she fought constant chills and fever. No appetite and couldn't keep anything in or down for 3 weeks. Water was painful to drink. Blood pressure sky high.

Forgive me if you've mentioned it already, but how is she today?

Twsting negative for the virus but now feeling the effects. Doctors are still trying to get her BP under control as it jumps up and down and spikes to as high as 200/150 which is beyond stoke levels. They have her scheduled to deal with the aneurysm on her heart. Has most of her energy back and the headaches are gone. Still has bouts of breathing difficulty and lost hearing in her left ear. What's bad is she just lost her aunt to it a month or so back and then her cousin(son of that aunt) a week or so later. She believes she contracted it being around the family during that time of funeral ceremonies.

That is perfectly said. My fever one night had my mind so twisted up I was actually arguing in my sleep about some famous person's real name.

I had to finally google the answer and was able to sleep for a smooth 20 minutes or so.
Glad to hear you're doing better

personally have met 4 people who tested positive. a 23 yr old asymptomatic, and a family. 2 50+yr old parents were pretty sick for a good 2 weeks and their 26ish yr old daughter.

Just found out that my mom tested positive tonight. She hadn't been feeling great for the past week. My sister ended up taking her to the ER tonight. I'm worried for her.

I know a couple that had it... my wife and I had a bbq at their house 3 days before their symptoms started and 5 days before they tested positive.

Took them about 3 weeks....

Now, I just found out my neighbor back in Virginia, her son at JMU has it.... I told Dad that he doesn't need to come back but stay in Harrisonburg.
