Now that most of my trees are gone, the area behind my shop is exposed. That's not a huge deal, but I have a bit of crap stashed back there (looks bad) and during shop/yard get-togethers, guests usually whiz back there vs stumbling to the house to use the bathroom.
I called the group that put up my privacy fence a couple years back to see if they can stop in one day and throw up one white vinyl panel. Figured the one neighbor that can see back there would appreciate it.
The guy on the phone asked, "One panel?" I told him yeah. I figured they would be in and out in 15 to 30 minutes, then be on their way.
"Just got to Lowe's. That's all you need."
Because my time is worth nothing now, but I have gobs of material, I decided to take a different approach. Oh, not to mention the nearest Lowe's is a half hour away.
I'll make something using these pieces of Cypress trees.
Put a few pieces down.
Figured I would use a couple of logs to support the pieces as I stack them.
I cut two pieces to 7.5ft long. I then rode my post hole diggers to 1.5ft down. The hole was about 6" in diameter, but so were the larger end of the logs.
Since I couldn't get the log started, even after shaving the diameter of the hole, I decided to peel away the bark, up to the 18" mark. After doing that, and seeing how easily the bark peeled away, I decided to peel the entire log. Spoiler alert: Wifey loved the look!
Peeling the log.
Installed that one, and began peeling the other.
Let the stacking commence!
Almost finished, but ran out of the tiny limbs and daylight (and stamina). I'll finish up tomorrow.
My wife thinks it's cooler'n hell.
I am pleased with the results, and if you would like something like this erected on your property, the answer is no.
Just go to Lowe's.
