Someone is flying a drone over my neighborhood. It has hovered over my wife and kids in the swimming pool about 75ft or so. Same drone chased my daughters little dog, flying low in my yard with my daughter yelling and scared that it was going to hurt her dog. I went inside and grabbed my shotgun, and just walked outside with it. Of course it is illegal to shoot at drones, but apparently they thought I was about to shoot their expensive drone, as it quickly flew away when I simply walked in my yard with the shotgun, with no real intent at shooting it.
Yet I wonder what the ramifications of shooting said drone would be considering it is being used to abuse animals? In my view it would be defending your property, but I’m not sure how a judge or jury would view it. I don’t have time to go to court to find out either. If I had more time and was an awesome retired grouchy old get off my lawn type old man like some of you, I’d probably consider it. Hopefully they think I was serious when I walked outside with my shotgun, and don’t come back.
