Whoa, hang on a min. They haven't failed. hp468 's post was in jest, to revive an ongoing discussion about Elio, and to troll our resident $100 Elio t-shirt owner, Flashpoint .J R Green;n4506 said:I would imagine that more startups fail than not. It's a shame this one didn't take off.
^ That is a link to their stock price. You'll know they're dead when that falls to, or close to, zero.drypowder;n3922 said:Well, at least we have a somewhat more objective way of measuring ELIO's prospects: http://finance.yahoo.com/quote/ELIO?p=ELIO

I have never said they were going to make it, never even said I thought their chances were better than 50/50. What I have said is that I don't know the future and no one else here does either.
Its true they are in financial trouble but they have been for some time. I support this company not because they have $100 of my money but for what their success would mean to our country, and I find it puzzling why so many seem to salivate at the prospect of their failure.
Doors are optional.theres no doors. what happens when it rains?
its a glorified golf cart
I would imagine that more startups fail than not.
Arcimoto's SRK electric 3-wheeler
Sounds like pricing will be in the $12k range, so well above Elio's (fantasy) pricing.
I assume part of their plan is getting government subsidies. After all, it uses electricity, not that devil's fuel - oil.@$12k it's doomed. You can get a smart car new for that...
Saw this video from Scotty Kilmer
From Oct 2018: Elio Motors To Source Engine For Three-Wheeler From Roush
And seems they turned to cryptos as a potential funding source - ElioCoins!
Elio Motors Launches Its Own Cryptocurrency
So apparently it ain't dead yet.

Catch me up. What were they going to do for our country?
Ah, so the key to getting Wyatt more involved from his new home is to resurrect ancient threads that he participated in? Let the thread necromancy begin![ATTAC H=full]91645[/ATTACH]
Meant to be a city/commuter car. And well under $10K. But they are also fighting big auto that is lobbying against state law changes to recognize it as a car rather than a motorcycle. As a motorcycle, insurance is way higher. Plus drivers need an MC endorsement to operate. So it is/was a motorcyle/car thing that has no room. Yeah, not gonna work.
