G's Garage

That one looks pretty clean. There are many nicer cruisers out there for half that price though. I reached out to a guy I sold one of mine to 10 years ago to see if he still had it. He does and he is thinking about selling. I'm running over Sunday afternoon to take a look.
Yeah that's at least 20k high.

I sold my 91 fj80 with a 3fe for 2300$ a few years ago, body was fairly good with minimal rust , but needed some work

Ive paid for kouki tails for the car - it's just the revised/later versions. Look MUCH better than the 91-93 tails that look like they were from the 80s...because they were designed in the 80s.
Also got a new (to me) climate control unit with no paint flaking off, and some later version tweeter covers. I might add more to the list before it gets shipped.
He's shipping out on Monday...from Scotland.

Here in the states those tails are EASILY 1200 or more. Some are over 1500 bucks.
This guy is selling them for about 750USD shipped. Over there they arent that rare like here, so the value is much lower.

Found out from a guy on the GRM board who bought some. Contacted the seller and told him to, please, put me on the list next time a set was available. Well that was this week. The center panel, unfortunately, is a bright blue, so that'll need to be painted, but it's such a steal.

Not much changed since my last post, just a few more miles and even more SMILES.
Im currently looking at it parked downtown

Track day 10/17?

I still got this, but not a lot of progress as of now. A few small things trying to fix some broken/missing bits.
Today I made a big(ger) purchase, got a new radiator on the way - my stock one was cracked at some point, someone used JBweld to fix...well, that's leaking some. Not a huge leak, but it needs fixing.
This aluminum one also has a/the transmission cooler built in, supposed to run significantly cooler than the stock copper unit.
Will be a good time to flush trans out, get some fresh fluid in there too, as well, obviously, as fresh coolant throughout.

Maybe next week I can find a bodyshop to look at the frame and get a game plan together for it and some body stuff

Good luck on finding a shop for rust repair. They are so covered up now. I had a vehicle in about 3 years ago. NOONE would even look at it. Let alone fix it.

Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think the rust looks all that bad. For an everyday driver? Sure. For a trail truck? Hell nah, run the dog shit out of it.

Don’t know how I missed this. I’m Usually not envious of people but ya got me this time. Great find SOR

Welp, Im just going to do one big ole thread for it all.

Got to thinking of condensing into one place when I got the new (to me) car.
Currently I have a thread for the MR2, the Land Cruiser, and then the Garage itself - cleaning up the garage, building workbench(es) etc. And now the Rav4 is in the stable.
I'd like to do just one place. I have parts for the MR2 to go on. I got more Land Cruiser work to do/parts sitting to put on. And some very basic mods to the Rav4.
And Im always messing in the garage. Shelving units, French cleats, wood storage etc.

So. yeah. Here we go!

I took this pic today of 'the stable' (minus the four motorcycles)
Yep, all Toyotas.

1988 Land Cruiser
2019 Rav4 Adventure
1991 MR2 Turbo

-1988 LC is basically stock. Old Man Emu lift kit/suspension is about it.
-The Rav4 we purchased just two weeks ago to replace the totaled '14 Fiesta. Mods so far - just the High Flying rear shelf and some interior storage stuff. It already came with some nice factory options like the roofrack crossbars and all-weather mats,
-The MR2...well...it's got a few upgrades. JDM Gen3 engine, TRD and Koni suspension, basic mods.

And then there's the garage itself. It's a mess...AGAIN. But I'll get it back in shape slowly. Have before, will again.

So, yeah, here we are, G's Garage. One-stop-shop for all my garage-based stuff.

Love the JF60. I had an 83 that had been t boned on drivers side. I chopped it to pieces, caged it, desmog, Webber carb. Ended up with a welded 80 ff rear, locker up front with chromos and 5.29 gears on a shackle reversed spring over on 36” tsls. I beat it like it owed me money (it did) for years.

I guess the point is… I’ve got a few of the parts left from chopping it. I know I’ve got a passenger rear door, the carb fan and under seat heater. You can have the spare parts if you want them.

Shoot me a PM with your location and a number I can reach you at, I'd love it!

That name’s already taken, but since you’re in a different state I’ll allow it.

Back in July, during Prime Days, I picked up a cheap tool hanger for cordless tools.
I finally got around to putting it together, getting a piece of wood to mount to the wall first (so that I could put the holder where I wanted without worrying about hitting a stud or using anchors.
Then I put a small piece of wood on top, with two 30* wedges underneath to tilt it for easier access to the battery chargers.
It was about 15 bucks, plus some scrap wood, and a little bit of paint from a 50c 'oops' can from Home Depot (I love getting those little things at 50c for random projects)

Been busy in the garage lately prepping for Christmas and a Christmas market at our school tomorrow
That inspired me to put that holder up to tidy up my workbench just a hair more. I'll continue to 'improve' the garage as I can.

Car stuff...nothing, honestly. Not driven the 2 in over a month now. Sad. I'll try to put a few miles on it soon. But school (which requires a parking sticker) ties up a lot of time and prevents me from driving it on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
