Home Projects you’re working on.

Ahh… No, it is not leansafe!

Felt like a WWF match and they came off the top rope..

Imagine when their cars arrive here. 😳

Changed out the shower faucet and head in guest bathroom
Today is a big cleaning day. Wife has been working on the house all week, now it's my turn to do my bit.
-wash my laundry
-while that's running, clean stovetop and counter tops, as well as the stainless sink
-dry laundry, wash out sheets
-vacuum the kitchen and living room
-remove all my toys and books from public areas (so we're clear, matchbox and hot wheels ha)
-cleaned out our jacuzzi tub, scrubbed it down

I"ll iron laundry real soon while sheets are drying and comforter is in the wash etc
Just getting caught up on stuff that piled up with out busy schedules
She's got a friend from Raleigh coming in for the night, so that's also what prompted this.

Tonight I'll be spending time in the garage. Laser engraving and working on a new setup for storage in the middle of the two bays

WWF cage match, or get the case at the top, Andre the Giant used it or Big Show, Mark Henry, etc.maybe Stephanie climbed it.

But wait "Leansafe X3"

Looks like they used Rector seal epoxy.
I believe you’re correct based on what I saw and what I see on Google.

I forgot to close the loop here. Everything was finally fixed, with carpet being the last. I did have to have them come back to redo some of the drywall repair because it was subpar in the correct lighting.

Because they didn’t have the exact same carpet, they had to replace my entire master and closet. Movers came in to empty the room (<15min), carpet guys got here and chuckled at the builder’s initial request to patch, then scratched their heads on the best way to lay the room because of the size and closet orientation.

Carpet was done in 2hr, movers came back for another 15min and everything was done before noon. New carpet is slightly more grey, the pictures make the difference look worse. I actually like this color better than what we originally had.

If you really want to see how bad.. or good, the Sheetrock joints and tape job is, shine a flashlight up, down or horizontal against the wall. It will tell the truth.
Yup, that’s exactly what I did, got some good pics and sent them to the warranty rep then had him see it in person. I was trying to be reasonable but at the same time I wasn’t going to accept sub-par work.

Ok, got it painted (the walls) without wrecking my other ladder 😂

Next is finish sanding the stair treads, risers and skirt boards for paint. Then some flavor of wainscoting up the stairs and around the walls

Edit: and pull the crown off.

I’ve been terrorizing my family with spring cleaning here lately.

I don’t even want to talk about how much crap I’ve thrown away.

For the last couple of days we’ve been working on the home office. Which I no longer need.

I had a big desk in there and a futon for the occasional guest. But my mom visits more than a little so I finally put a good mattress on the futon which meant it stayed down. Making the room more than a little crowded.

Still have a bit more to clean up but we turned this

I am worn out.

So we finished turning the office into a bedroom (minus new paint which will probably have to wait till after the bbq) which included a new area rug and putting in a powered bed so my folks can raise their head and/or feet.

IMG_5915.jpeg

When I was asked if we could redecorate our bedroom. I said as long as I get to take a sledgehammer to the old furniture I’m in.

We had @Chdamn's Wife, grandmother’s bedroom furniture. Which at one time was nice and we lived in a larger house with a bigger bedroom.

It was huge but poorly designed so there was far less space than there should be (doors in front of drawers to start with) and at this point it was falling apart, which you can see in the picture.

And as you can see by crap on top of the dresser I didn’t have enough room since I just had the armoire to store my clothes.

IMG_5905.jpeg

Amy wanted grey walls so she picked the paint. She said she wanted to paint a yellow accent wall which I vetoed because it made me erp to think about. So I found a rug that brings some yellow into the room. Then I found some super cheap but well made furniture on Amazon. Metal frame and cloth drawers. Made by the same company that made the little desk we put in the office/bedroom.

A lot smaller footprint but more storage space because almost all available space is used.

And best of all, did I say cheap? Inexpensive is a better word. About $100 per piece of furniture.

Rounded it out by changing the blinds to match.

Started Friday morning. Just got finished.

We filled a whole 30 yard dumpster with furniture and bags of crap we had collected and tossed. Feels good to have a fresh coat of paint and new look.

Went from this

I’m soooo happy. I’m not bumping into the damn kitchen table or chairs all the time. I don’t have to turn sideways to get to the bourbon.

We’ve actually eaten dinner at the table the past 2 nights. We hadn’t eaten at the other table since we got it. It was just uncomfortable as hell.

Looks great, Yeah I'd be banging my knees on the old table legs (not good bad knees) Clear access to the Adult beverages
A must...

Part 2, Create a space for a pup so there won't be a kennel sitting out in the floor anywhere. Not happy with the door so I'm redoing it and will add the 100% completed pictures later.

*** Receptacle box has been extended and the receptacle is mounted and straight currently.

I've been watching your project for a while, it's looking great! Very well planned.
How big of a flock are you planning? Just curious.

6 hens at most. Currently have 5 birds but I do believe 2 are roosters. If so they gotta go.

3 Garden boxes 4x8x13” metal and 2x4’s
1 garlic box 4x4
And tilled up the garden area 30 L x 10 W
And a chicken coop/made from scrap pallets

Didn’t happen unless there are pics.

You don’t want to be labeled a Fisherman with a story, do you?

tempImageFrqH1L.jpgGot tired of parking nose to tail, so after having some trees taken out I used some treated 6x6's to frame out a 20'x40' parking area.
21 tons of crusher-run later it's done!
After being a 110% caregiver for 9 months with little time to exercise....it kicked my skinny old butt.

The people we bought our house from were retarded or something. Every lock had a different key. I mean every lock. Front door knob had a different key than the front door deadbolt. Finally got some of the Kwikset Smart locks that are a breeze to rekey.

And their nifty code pad that auto locks so the old lady has no excuse for leaving the damn door unlocked.

Did I want to spend 300 dollars on door knobs? No. But it was worth it.

I've never understood this. I've worked on many houses where the homeowner would give me a pile of keys to get in everything. I allways ask if they would like to have all the locks rekeyed so they want need a ring of keys to access there house. The answer is allways yes. And some are shocked it seems when they find out this is an option. When you buy the locks the stores most times will do this for free and only takes a minute.

Seriously! It drove me mad. I don’t know how anyone can live like that. Savages I tell you, savages!

Here is a piece of walnut I rescued from the dump. It had a large crack and I wanted to try my hand at bow ties. I made them from a pecan log I was gifted and the I poured a epoxy with a blue tint to fill the cracks. I then gave it a top coat of clear epoxy. First attempt was a disaster.

Got that sorted out and the second try went better. Still not perfect but not bad for a first attempt at both bow ties and epoxy pour.

As always opinions as well as criticism welcome.
