Reloading bench coming next week in the building I’ve been working on

Another quick project. I installed an electric fireplace in our travel trailer. It replaces a two door cabinet that was basically useless. It was 6” deep. View attachment 540937View attachment 540938View attachment 540939View attachment 540940View attachment 540941
I have one in our trailer. It's actually pretty nice. When we moved here, we were living in the camper from the end of January to beginning of June.

Since electric was included in the lot rent, I used the fireplace. Furnace wouldn't kick on until about 3 or 4 in the morning

Master bath reno, house built in the mid 70's and full of all kinds of half assed work.
No nail plates, oh look a drywall nail tried to make love to the drain pipe. Thankfully it never fully penetrated the pipe.

Gutted and reworked with pipe supports, nail plates and blocking.

New cabinet box with face frame.

Finished cabinet installed. Cabinet is walnut with conversion varnish. I built & finished it all with help from my cabinet maker buddies shaper to cut the stiles and rails along with the raised panel sections.
I've had the walnut for years and I know the walnut is not top tier stuff but still worlds better (IMO) than the crap I pulled out or all the painted stuff I see everywhere these days. I have face frame walnut cabinets in all the bathrooms now. I'm not sure I'll do FF in the kitchen next year though, I'll probably wind up with Euro style boxes. The whole bathroom was redone with new insulation, drywall, crown & base moldings, marble counter top, sinks, faucets and lighting.

I tore out a leaking concrete and lath wall tiled shower stall, that was fun. It's been years, the old lady is getting naggy, may start the reconstruction soon.

Delivery guy today somehow thought the 6' wide pea gravel walkway at the end of our driveway would take him all the way around the house and back to the road. WTF? After driving 40' down the walkway he figured out this wasn't a driveway and did a 3-point-turn into the woods just a few feet short of the septic tank and took out all the stone edging of the walkway. Hopefully it's just hardscaping and no damage to the septic. So that's my next few projects -- fixing the landscaping/hardscaping, and then buying a giant bolder to put at the end of the driveway at the start of the path. Since it rained a lot recently, the wheel ruts in and around the walkway are pretty deep.

I hope they’re gonna pay for the damage

This weekend I’ll be building a smaller version of the reloading bench I had in the building at my parents house. Gonna use a piece of cabinet grade 3/4” plywood for the top so it’s nice and smooth. I’ll take and post pics as I start

I am working on writing checks for some foundation repair and some new concrete in my garage. And I am really f’ing excited about it. 🤬

Sounds like some of our drivers. With few exceptions, if it's out there, we've hit it.

We bought 3 septic tanks this month. Two in one week.

Ouchie

Never mind. I have the 735 no X. Just went and looked. I thought it was older. Mine has the feed tables but I bought it for a lady whose dad passed and had a whole shop full of stuff. I’m getting more and more into woodworking. I really like to build cabinets.
@Crankbait , I found that bigger planer for you

Not a project… but it will make some.
My birthday/Christmas/valentines/labor/fourth of July/ thanksgiving Day present.

It replaces my old shopsmith.
Nice!
I'm still using my older shop smith for making Native American flutes. I'd like to sell it and get a 36" lathe.

Got lots going. Too much.
Working on a 'cabinet' to mount my table saw on.
Was hoping to build a big book shelf on this break, but the wife has other plans...you know, like spending time together and stuff.
But I will start measuring and getting material for it and may get a little started this weekend.

@Mirac
Do you have anything like this to cut multiple bowls from one piece of wood:

I do not.
Would be a tool for the rest of this log if I end up turning it.

Roughed in the gas line for the downstairs fireplace.

Cleaned the basement a little and put some stuff away.

Wired a motor for a future project.

Gotta love retirement. Another project the wife wanted me to do was remove the plastic tub & surround as well as the huge mirror and double vanity. I did my best. Also installed new tile floor.

How was this project? It’s in my near future, with that same glass wall.

Diana bought floor for the building that’s been my project for the last few months. So far this is the easiest part of the building I’ve worked on. Builders didn’t get the osb flooring down at a couple seams. Had to take a planer to it and knock it down so it wouldn’t crease the floor. I learned today I need a power planer

*seams* 🤣
Every post I make I have to go back and edit something that the ghost of Steve Jobs decided my phone should change.

Funny how we work now. Used to it was “good job, that looks good”

Now it’s “you suck at spelling “ 😎

I have been waiting awhile to do that. Oh and Lil D picked out some nice flooring, hope you don't screw it putting it down.🤣

Looks good so far
