How long you been married?

Regarding potential marital relationships, I think one thing young couples contemplating marriage don't realize is that very often this person who they feel is their soulmate actually thinks very differently than they do on a day to day basis.

I mean, just the way they view the world, and daily decisions. It may seem like they think just like you, and have all the same values, but I think that while many members of the opposite sex may have identical values to ours, they arrive at those mental destinations in a very different fashion.

I was a bachelor till I was 34. Over the years my little black book became quite the repository of names and phone numbers that represented relationships that simply were not to be.

That said, keep this in mind. As a general rule, men are often very compartmental in their thinking. Picture PO Boxes at the post office, or cubby holes in and old desk, whereas women tend to be very global in their thinking about life and everyday events.

Stretch your arms out wide, and draw a big circle in the air. This is the "globe" within which women think, and only God and the woman knows what's in there.

This July will be 27 for us.Dated for 11 years before she convinced me. 38 yr total. Damn that's a long time. Traded a nice set of E/T turbine torque wheels for the rings. She was OK with that, so I knew I had a winner.

Just over 21 years.

There's an old Henny Youngman joke (either he or Rodney Dangerfield), that goes "I've been happily married 4 years. I've been married for 30, though..." My wife hates that joke.

36 years this coming March 9th. Dated for 7 years before we got married, I’d say she really loves me! I definitely married up!

0 years. Never been married where my gf has. Neither of us care to get married

40 years last August.
I'm a lucky.man.
Been laid up for a couple of months with a bum foot. She'll get in my truck back up to the wood shed load it then pull it down to the basement door and carry it in.
Not a word of complaint about about the extra duties she's had to take on to keep the household running while I'm laid up.

It'll be 28 years this June.
When I asked her Dad for her hand in marriage he said "Her hand? You can have all of her..."
ba dum bum tishh
I brought two large pepperoni pizzas to seal the deal back then, sort of a reverse dowry.
Best trade evah!

20. She says each passing year she loves me more and more. I tell her that must be because each passing year there's more and more of me to love.

24 with the first wife. May or may not do it again with the current GF. We've been together 8 yrs and counting and neither of us are in a big hurry.

June 29 will be 36 years during that time we have survived 14 years USN loss of a infant Son to SIDS loss of a infant Granddaughter to a accident and loss of a adult Daughter to a accidental OD. We even have the same pin number on our debit cards. We fight and make up.
