What would it be?

My wife considered putting her treadmill in our new shop, but we can't find it. I remember where we left it, though. And knowing it won't get used much because it's boring as heck, what is something she should look at that might be a kinda do-all machine that doesn't need a bunch of other accessories and items?

probably a bowflex but it seems like people rush to get rid of them for some reason

on the plus side you can find one easily on craigslist

Cardio … strength … weight … what does she really want it to do?

Oops. That would be important, eh?

I'm going to say vanity. She's not happy with her weight. Not necessarily how much she weighs, but where she's carrying it.

When she was going to the YMCA, she was loving how she looked, especially her thighs. You seen those videos where the women bust watermelons with their thighs? I told her it wasn't funny. It hurt and to stop.

Rowing machine, low impact on joints and a good cardio work out.

Lawn gets mowed, you save money and the wife is happy with her thighs. You're welcome.

Since most replies are cardio based, I have to agree with the Concept2 Rower that or a Rogue Echo bike.
If you do look at the echo bike or others similar, I must warn you, many of the lower quality bike don't have good arm range-of-motion.

I'd rather a good squat rack and adjustable bench, but I don't know if your wife would be interested in that.

Cardio will be a major part of that along nutrition. Basic dumbbells and proper exercises (lunges, squats, etc) along with other standard PT stuff will stregthen and tone muscles. Then add in a forgotten cardio workout that will work more than the legs … jump rope. Jumping rope 10 minutes is like running over a mile with less stress on your joints plus it actually tones arms and strengthens the core … and will improve your coordination. Back when I played ball if I had a few minutes of down time I’d jump rope … 3,4 maybe 5 times a day … I actually wore a slight divot on our porch from a weighted rope.

I have only bought two pieces of exercise equipment in my life and both are Ellipticals

They will pound the calories off but the trick is you have to use it and I mean use, not get on it and walk like a grandma going down snow covered steps LOL

For what she wants the best thing is a sign that says “put the fork down”

remember to post video!

rower do make you feel good.

Next weekend will be 28 years with this woman.

If I haven't said anything else to her, I've told her the reason it's on your ass is because it went in your mouth.

it really is a great low impact / cardio-strength combination. But yeah, I would not want to maintain a pool.

The neighbor's daughter started college this year.

I didn't think only one summer of perving on her was worth the expense.

A rower as others have said.

She had those for when she's walking her dog.

She's taking a new job that will give her more time in the morning for more regular walks.

That and a phone for podcasts/music and we're good!

I had a Concept rower for years and loved it. Got rid of it several years ago because of how much space it took up and for lack of use. Bought a Bowflex Max trainer and hate it. I bought it to get back in shape for an Appalachian trail hike last year and it worked well for that. I need to pick up another Concept Rower and actually start doing something again.
