If you were going to buy only one piece of fitness equipment

You know where I live. Put the dog in the golf cart and come on. 🤣

I'll be in Waxhaw for three days next week. Come see me.

I'll try my best not to kiss you.

You want some new batteries while you’re up here? My FIL works at Interstate Batteries in Indian Trail.

1,000, 12oz curls, coming up!

She had those for when she's walking her dog.

She's taking a new job that will give her more time in the morning for more regular walks.
Shoot! I was going to recommend a dog and a yard with no fences so you actually had to walk it.

I found some "equipment" I'd like to exercise with, but the doctor says my heart isn't HEALTHY enough for that.

Wife says, if she FINDS me with that, the rest of me won't be in much better shape, either! 😳

Hey a least she still thinks there is a possibility of it happening. 🤣

Peloton, little bit of a pricy up front purchase and then you have the monthly fees but it is a solid workout and so much more than just cycling.

I can't do any of the stationary indoor machines whether it's a rower, bicycle or whatever. It's just too boring staring at the wall or TV. I'd rather be outdoors moving around seeing different things even if it means riding my bike in the rain.

Bicycle, very useful with a set of pannier bags so you can cycle to the store when gas prices are thru the roof. Last 3.5 months lost 17 lbs just walking and running in the evenings.

CD

Bike prices are almost 2x what they were 'pre-inflation'. Crap bikes are getting top dollar.

Regarding walking, it works and you don't need to walk miles and miles to get a benefit: https://www.eatthis.com/news-eddie-hall-strongman-weight-loss/

The reality is, you don't need anything but your own body to 'get in shape'. Just walking and body weight exercises will absolutely do it.

Whether it's a machine or just walking, you have to find something that you like to do or you won't stick with it.

I've been wanting to ask this for a week now but needed a Bike Rider to help me...so you are it for this. We have a 5 mile road that is new. It is through a many thousand acre game preserve. The speed limit is 45 [revenue enhancer]. This road is 4 Wide lanes separated by a grass median. On the far right of one lane there is a wide [8 foot] paved bike path separated from the road by a substantial rumble strip for rider's protection. I ride this road twice a day to and from work. This is probably THE only stretch of road I drive on at the posted speed limit. It is a beautiful ride to work.
Several times I have seen a man dressed in Bike Rider clothes and wearing a helmet riding his bike In The Road....out in the Center of the slow lane. When other drivers of delivery trucks and just regular traffic blow the horn for him to stop obstructing traffic, he goes nuts. He waves both arms like one of those things side of the road with air forced through it and screams at them.....I get over in the fast lane when I see him Way ahead because I know to look for him......this is Not going to end good.
What would make a Biker get In The Road instead of a wonderful Protected Bike Lane? Any bikers please chime in..Thanks

I'm seeing rower a lot. Those are big on cardio aren't they?
I don't like a treadmill and I almost kill myself with the air bike. I'm bulking up muscle-wise from the coached gym classes I do but I still need to drop some Y2K stores from around my waist.

If the bike path is for bikes only or is pretty much empty I would ride there. If the path is for pedestrians and dog walkers and everything else, I would ride with traffic. It's hard to keep a steady pace if you have to deal with pedestrians and such.
I don't know what the traffic volume is on the road but if it's light, cars can easily move to the left lane. I ride in Charlotte traffic around Southpark, Myers Park and the Olde Providence area. I have some places on my route that have a bike lane and some that are 4 lane divided (Colony Rd & Queens Rd). I have just as many problems with cars whether I'm in a bike lane or not. I have folks that won't move to the left lane even if me and them are the only two vehicles in sight.

The place @BatteryOaksBilly is talking about is rural, no foot traffic. It has a dedicated bike lane for each side of the highway.

Never mind..I see^^^^^^^^^^^^...........No pets on this road. Like my Pard @Geezer touched on....No foot traffic.

I’m in the fancy sandbag camp. You can do some tabatas with less than 30 pounds a few times a week and see some tremendous changes. Plus walking with a load is highly underrated that’s what she said.

The best thing my wife did to lose body fat, especially in places that otherwise seemed difficult was switching to a Keto lifestyle. We've both been eating a healthy Keto diet since early June and feel and look better than we have in decades.
My wife loves spin and we plan on purchasing a Peloton bike in the near future. She's researched the heck out of it and is set on one. I do a simple 30 minute, full body dumbbell workout 3 times a week and it's just what I've been looking for in the way of time spent and results seen so far.

I would not mind getting this. Both my wife and I can use it. Strength training in a fairly compact package. I've seen the similar cable and plate based systems that cost a lot more and take up a ton more space.
Magnetic resistance so lighter weight.
Just one of those dial a weight dumbbell sets costs $500 or more.

A little weight in the pack makes difference too huh? I did my 5.6 mile rick yesterday with the 30 lb plate and a water bladder. I slept well last night.

Damn you! I have been resisting the sales on the Go Ruck sandbags, but might have to buy one now to try it out.

It's amazing what a 10# difference can make from 20# to 30#!

Shop around for sandbags. Go can find cheaper than GR. I dig the pancake sandbag...would not mind one of those.

I’ve been hesitant to do much real weight bearing exercise since I tore my bicep tendon and quad. Babying those 2 kind of limits what can be done. But I’ve slowly added some weight to the rucks and am probably ready to start doing a little more. I’ll start with kettle bells and add as I go.

Now that looks cool!

What would it be?

My wife considered putting her treadmill in our new shop, but we can't find it. I remember where we left it, though. And knowing it won't get used much because it's boring as heck, what is something she should look at that might be a kinda do-all machine that doesn't need a bunch of other accessories and items?
TRX straps and a couple of kettlebells. Cardio is overrated.
