More walmart debauchery

I don't talk to strangers at Walmart. I was in men's room at Newark Airport, guy next to me starts talking to me, I ignored him, I know he was a police officer or detective, they frequent the rest rooms to arrest men on soliciting crimes. They get you to take a plea deal and pay a huge fine.

I try not to...

But [as a woman] if you are a complete dick to some men, they start getting really outta control, really fast, even in public [think yelling ho or whore or other things at you] - best to be curt yet polite and walk away as quickly as one can.

Dang. That's horrible...

Yes it is, but it is reality so learning to cope is key.

Public school in Tampa then I used to live in downtown ATL in the mid 1990s
I rode the MARTA regularly
I actually went out into 2 Freaknick's - dressed in huge jeans and a baggy hoodie so I looked about as attractive as a sack of laundry

I have learned how to manage this kind of shit and walk away unscathed without escalating it, as well as spot the warning signs a genuine threat.

Head on a swivel, always.
I saw the dude today coming from a ways away.

Sorry next time I will transpire it in crayon where it will be a little easier for you to read 😂
Can’t use crayons around here…too many Marines.

Being a former LEO, Firearms instructor, Federal an State, CCW Instructor,Former Team Member S.W.A.T, NRA Rangemaster, former Private Overseas Security Contractor, Strong advocate of 2-A God Fearing Constitutionalist. This is just my humble opinions. This idiot is within his rights, but At first glance do we as citizens know his motives or intent?. Is he trying to make a statement or test local, state an federal law? Does he have a mental issue or is he trying project a superior image by open carry in a crowded area? Or does he plan on killing a multitude of innocent civilians… most people in society ARE NOT TRAINED to detect early warning signs to prevent a catastrophic event unless they have had proper training… I’m sure there are going to be a lot comments on this forum from self professed shithouse lawyers, left wing, right wing, Monday morning quarterbacks, little boys that built their first ar’s an sks in their mommies basement.. But when the rubber hits the road are you as a bystander are you going to know how to react when a mentally deficient human being like this invades a public place…. This may be the norm in a public place in a third world country in which I have witnessed personally, but it’s not the norm an should not be as of NOW in any place in the USA.. As I stated before I’m a very strong advocate of 2-A an CCW rights an have always live by the old LEO saying it’s better to be tried in a court of law by 12 than to be carried by 6 to the grave.. My first thought process on this was situational an two fold.. If I had members of my family present with me, hands down..(elude an evade) it’s only common sense period…. Situation #2… Follow an observed him at a safe an Tactical distance until backup arrives an hope he does not make any aggressive or calculated unsafe moves… I’m not a cowboy or a hero! But I have been involved in shooting situations, yes I have been hit an yes I have engaged an dispatched my perpetrators.. Years ago I was trained by a NOW Retired Special Forces Ground Commander Pappy Adkins that ask me a question I will NEVER forget. When a situation or mission goes south will you run to or from it? That’s what defines you inner warrior.. If I could offer any advice forget about Political Correctness an learn to be street smart an in today’s society have common sense an earn to profile criminals… If you get on an airplane an there’s a middle eastern male with a turban on cleaning his fingernails with a box cutter acting irrational,, (oh I know that ship has done sailed) what are you going to do… An with this current situation A middle aged darker skin (middle eastern type) carrying a AK-47 multiple magazines 2 handguns an a bullet proof vest… my reaction certainly not going to be go up an Pat him on the back an say, “ Buddy I’m proud of you for expressing your Second Amendment Rights… WAKE UP…..
Your perspective reminds me of when I used to hang out at a friends gun shop. When someone sketchy came in, I would position myself by a nearby gunsafe (bullet resistant) in case I had to dynamically engage with him. If, by chance, I wasn't armed, I would place myself very close to to him, expecting to tie him up physically while others came to assist.

But as long as you’re asking questions…

Walmart’s what? 🤓
Just sounds like a lot of really odd experiences people are having in those stores lately. Remarks I have read not just in this particular thread. Maybe it's the area the stores are located in. I don't know because I really don't use the store that much. I think maybe I'll avoid it.

I guess it has something to do with Marines.
by the way, Semper Fi.
:D

I’ll explain my question.

I asked what I did because you put Walmart’s instead of Walmarts…a possessive. Should’ve been followed by an object.

And to clarify, I’ve never been a Marine. 🤣

Come on man, you knew what I was saying. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings just asking about the picture.
Just like I definitely knew you were not a Marine.

I understand that Walmart's have some peculiar individuals walking around. But I don't think I have ever heard as many weird incidents that I have listening to you all about Walmart's in North Carolina.
Now my wife is armed and been permitted for decades and will shoot you ass, but I* swear I don't think I would allow her to go to a Walmart in North Carolina...ever..;)
heck you should see the Walmarts around here where I am in Virginia -meth heads wandering around like zombies some days. I try and go early.

News Flash

Man attempts robbery of gun shop. Frequent patron standing nearby attempting to subdue the subject is shot 37 times by others in the shop. Could be more holes in him but they haven't been able to separate the two yet for a definitive shot count.

Thank goodness no acorns were involved.

I’m gonna borrow this from another site:

Going armed to the terror of the public, commonly called Gatttotp, is thrown around way too much.

There are some things people need to know about this common law (not statutory law):
-There are 4 clauses to this common law that must be met
-Very rarely (if ever) will a charge actually stick if you do get charged with Gatttotp
-Cops use this as a tool to attempt to make you comply, and become a sheep

Now, as previously stated, there are 4 clauses to Gatttotp that ALL must be met in order for you to be successfully charged:

-You MUST be on a public highway, such as a publicly maintained street, road, freeway, etc
-You MUST be carrying an unusual weapon. A gun is considered an unusual weapon
-You MUST be threatening to kill someone. Ie, shouting at the top of your lungs "I'm gonna kill person XYZ, because.... BECAUSE! That's why!" constitutes as threatening to kill someone.

And this is the final clause (and possibly most important) that must be met:

-You MUST have intent to kill someone. It's my humble opinion that sitting on a horse in the middle of a road, calling out a name, while waving a weapon around and threatening to kill said person would show intent to kill someone (from the case where Gatttotp originated)

Once again, all 4 of these conditions must be met in order for you to successfully be CHARGED with Gatttotp. However, that doesn't mean cops won't try and make the charge stick.
Going armed to the terror use to be common law however it has also been added to the General statutes and became statutory law. Also the NC Supreme court in State v. Dawson laid out the 4 essential elements needed to be charged with going armed to the terror of the people.

According to The book Firearms law of North Carolina written by Attorney Thomas Faulk, Jr Those 4 element are.

1 Armed with an unusual and dangerous weapon

2 For the unlawful purpose of terrorizing the people of the named county

3 By going about the public highways of the county

4 in a manner to cause terror to the people

Link, please. The only thing I could find in the NC General Statutes was 14-288.3 which states "going about armed to the terror of the populace" remains a common-law offense.

In particular, this Article shall not be deemed to abrogate, abolish, or supplant such common‑law offenses as unlawful assembly, rout, conspiracy to commit riot or other criminal offenses, false imprisonment, and going about armed to the terror of the populace and other comparable public‑nuisance offenses.

I just saw an interview with this guy on the news. He seems the complete opposite of what his name would imply and says he was shopping for a sling for his gun. He's definitely guilty of making bad choices.

Personally I pretty much quit shopping at Walmart. There's never enough registers open and I refuse to use self checkout.

Not much choice around here for some stuffs; not driving an extra 10 miles to an alternative

I prefer self check out - I don't have to talk to anyone

Be careful with those, especially at WM.

The third group of people, Jernigan said, are targeted by a retailer long after they have gone to the store, often when inventory comes up short.

“It is something that, say, asset protection is doing a quality control check or inventory weeks, days, months later comes up short, so they will begin watching hours of video to see the last person who checked out with the Mario Lego set because they’re too short, or an Xbox game, and for some reason, they pinpoint that they think you did it,” she claims.

Jernigan then says corporations will prosecute with little evidence, so accused customers then have to spend time and money to prove themselves innocent.
Not sure how this flies against “innocent until proven guilty”, but I don’t have faith in the legal system either and we know the process is the punishment.

Yep. Every store I go to. I’ll walk right past the cashiers standing at the end of their empty aisle waiting on a customer just to use the self checkout register instead.

Hello Larry, as a WNC member who's been to East TN, I think you're the pot calling the kettle black. LOL.
Hello Lenoir👍 Maybe I better stay out of my own mini Walmart. Sounds like all of them are odd.
;):D Ace is my go to around here.

Interesting, hadn't heard that one before...

I worked at Target for about 4 yr and had a friend who did Asset Protection there for a long time
I'm pretty familiar with the ways people try to steal from these stores, under the guise of "i forgot"
Because of that I am very careful to scan everything + stop by the greeter OTW out with my receipt in hand
I also don't buy much of anything past basic groceries/toiletries

I couldn't find it either but I do remember talk about codifying it maybe it got strip out and never became law.

In an interview with Channel 9 Tuesday afternoon, Estep says he had no ill intentions. He says he is an avid supporter of the Second Amendment, and he has been openly carrying to protect himself and others in response to mass shootings across the country.
“Without the Second Amendment, we have no freedom,” Estep said.

Estep says all but one of his weapons was confiscated by Monroe police. People called 911 Monday around 1 p.m. after seeing Estep in the Walmart off U.S. Highway 74, police said.

“I am an honest man,” he said. “I have three kids. I’ve never had any violent charges. All of the people who know and love me can speak for me.”

Estep says he went to Walmart to buy a new gun sling. The 32-year-old says he has been carrying weapons since he was 21 and he brought the arsenal to the store because “he can.”

“I am not just some random guy with a gun,” he said. “I know how to handle guns properly and safely.”

Walmart has a no-gun policy. Defense attorney Brent Ratchford says like it or not, places, such as Walmart have the right to do this.

“Stores are considered to be private property,” he said. “They can restrict your gun rights.”

Estep says he’s been in other stores with no problems. He plans to fight his charge, get his guns back, and “change nothing.”

“You shouldn’t be afraid to stand up for yourself and what you believe,” he said. “I am just trying to protect my Second Amendment, brother.”

Interesting point in the article...
Channel 9 obtained a recording of the 911 call made from the Walmart.

“I saw a gentleman with body armor and an AR-15 walking toward the front door of this Walmart,” the caller said.

“People are walking in and out like nothing is going on, but I thought I would just let someone know,”
they added.

Obviously the call was made by a NC native.

I gotta say, it cracks me up.

Also:

Estep was arrested and taken to the Union County Jail where he was charged with going armed to the terror of the people.
.......
There was no danger to the public.

When they phrase it like that......

Also, vest is green on the front, but black on the back? Odd.
